Pokémon fans can now enjoy a new way of interacting with their favorite creatures: sleeping with them. Pokémon Sleep, a spin-off mobile game for iOS and Android, uses sleep tracking to affect gameplay and rewards players for a restful night’s sleep. The game was released worldwide, excluding certain regions, in the summer of 2023 and is free to download with in-app purchases.
How to play Pokémon Sleep? Playing Pokémon Sleep is simple: just place your smartphone by your pillow, then go to sleep. The game will record and measure your sleep data and score you based on how long you sleep and your sleep type. You can also use the Pokémon GO Plus + peripheral, which allows you to track your sleep with a button and hear Pikachu’s voice when it’s time to wake up or go to sleep.
Your adventure takes place on a small island where you’ll carry out research on how Pokémon sleep. You’ll work with a large Snorlax who lives on the island and Neroli, a professor studying Pokémon sleep styles. Your nights of sleep will be classified as one of three sleep styles—dozing, snoozing, or slumbering—and in the morning, Pokémon that sleep in similar ways will gather around Snorlax.

Pokémon Sleep aims to make sleeping more fun and rewarding by turning it into entertainment. By playing Pokémon Sleep, you can enjoy the benefits of sleeping well, such as feeling more refreshed, alert, and energetic in the morning.
