Several well-known events may soon be open to Pokemon GO players once more, according to a new datamine. The most recent Pokemon competition, the Pokemon Contest, which lets trainers display their three-Pokémon teams and Pokemon, was part of the Pokemon GO Tour: Johto Contest in January 2022.

It is hinted that the forthcoming potential competition will center on “comparing sizes” of the contending Pokémon. Pokemon Contests made their debut in the Gen 3 games and were later added to Pokémon GO as a part of the Johto Tour in 2022.

Contests are usually held in a special Contest Hall, where trainers and their Pokemon compete to display their prowess in categories like Cool, Adorable, and Tough.

Players in the Johto Tour were scored according to the themes, composition, and creativity of their avatar designs. The top prizewinners were then chosen to go to the following phase, where they engaged in competition with their Pokemon teams.

PokeMiners, a team that delves deeply into the Pokemon GO source code with each update, carried out the datamine. The section of their analysis titled “Contests Are Back” covers several topics that provide a clearer picture of how the contests might develop.

The fact that participants will receive awards for each event and must claim them is an important aspect. This hints that the competitions will offer in-game prizes rather than just letting players temporarily assume the role of NPCs in an event.

The size of a player’s Pokemon may have an impact on their chances of winning a competition, according to further detail in the datamine. These new procedures check the size just. Save your money on all of those unnecessary XXL and XXS mons.

They’re going to start losing some of their uselessness, according to PokeMiners. The coding of the game includes references to a schedule, and seasons were also mentioned as influencing the competitions. This hints that, like the GO Battle League, the competitions might be included in the game indefinitely.

Pokemon Contests may return at some point, and the possibility of in-game incentives and a fresh take on the time-honored event would be a welcome addition to Pokémon GO.

Although the datamine hints that Pokemon Contests will return, there has been no official confirmation from the Pokémon GO developers as to whether this will truly happen. It’s unclear how players will react to the contests given the latest Pokemon Go upgrades, which have angered many gamers.
