When will Path of Exile 2 be available? Path of Exile 2 has developed from its initial position as a significant expansion to become its own full game, with wholly new systems, classes, and an entirely new plot and campaign.
PoE2 emphasizes rich and sophisticated build creation, allowing you to assemble a strong arsenal of skills and treasure to blast your way through thousands of opponents throughout Wraeclast’s landscapes.
Path of Exile 2 is the solo sequel to Grinding Gear Games’ debut ARPG. Built by a group of Diablo 2 fans who wanted to create their take on the ARPG genre and formally published as a free game in 2013 after several years in beta, Path of Exile ascended to become one of the finest games like Diablo and continues to update with regular seasonal leagues.
Here’s a first look at Path of Exile 2, including all we know about the new systems, gameplay differences, microtransactions, and the Path of Exile 2 release date.
POE2 Release Date
We anticipate that Path of Exile 2 will be released no earlier than early 2025. The first public beta testing will take place in June 2024. This is likely to take a while; the first Path of Exile private beta began in August 2011, followed by an open beta in January 2013, before the game was released in October 2023.
During the ExileCon 2023 announcement event, Path of Exile 2 game director Jonathan Rogers stated, “We’re incredibly excited to be nearing the finish line, but we’re not quite there yet.” We’re resolved not to hurry this and to do it correctly the first time.” No firm release date will probably be announced until Grinding Gear Games has a sense of how the response to its closed beta testing has been.
Along with this, Grinding Gear Games has revealed that the development process is “a little bit further out” than they had hoped so we may expect a long wait for Path of Exile 2.
POE 2 Beta Release Date
Path of Exile 2’s closed beta will commence on Friday, June 7, 2024. There is currently no word on how players will be allowed to participate. However, the first Path of Exile game’s closed beta testing was opened to players who purchased a supporter pack.
With Grinding Gear Games sticking to its free-to-play model, a similar option for Path of Exile 2 seems probable.
Game director Jonathan Rogers confirmed the beta date at ExileCon 2023. It’s also likely that players will be allowed to register for a chance to join or that an open beta phase for Path of Exile 2 will follow the initial round of closed beta testing. When it is announced, we will update this article with information on how to join.

Path of Exile 2 leagues
Path of Exile 2 leagues will last for 13 weeks. These are similar to seasons in other ARPGs like Diablo, where you may create a new seasonal character starting at level one. You will have to start again with no prior things, cash, or progression.
Joining a seasonal league, on the other hand, will allow you to participate in its unique dynamics. Past clubs in Path of Exile have included anything from constructing small skill trees on your weapons to traversing arbitrarily generated dungeons in a roguelike-style side game alongside your primary campaign.
Leagues usually include a variety of balancing tweaks and class improvements, as well as new skill gems to develop new builds with. Because the first Path of Exile is still being played alongside PoE2, its leagues are scheduled to run on a similar, but offset, timetable, with companies in PoE1 starting about 4-5 weeks before the end of a PoE2 league, allowing devoted players to spend time with both games if they so want.
