Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Confirmed for Xbox Game Pass: Play Day One!

When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 comes out on Xbox Game Pass, it will be included in the subscription with no extra conditions.

Before the official announcement, some people thought the game might be used to launch a more expensive subscription tier. But Microsoft told Eurogamer that this isn’t true. The game will be fully playable on Xbox and PC for all three of the current Xbox Game Pass tiers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Confirmed for Xbox Game Pass

First Call of Duty Black Ops 6 teaser appears

Amid speculation that Microsoft plans to launch a more expensive tier of Game Pass, the company has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be playable at launch on all existing tiers.

This week, Microsoft announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. This is the first Call of Duty game to do so, following Microsoft’s $69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard.

Microsoft has faced questions about the impact of Game Pass on game sales, especially for games that launch on the service. Xbox executives say that Game Pass can boost sales, but some publishers are not convinced.

For example, former Activision boss Bobby Kotick was always against putting Call of Duty into subscription services. Unlike Microsoft, Sony does not release its new exclusives directly into its subscription service.

There was speculation that Microsoft might create a new, more expensive tier of Game Pass for day-one titles like Black Ops 6. However, a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer that this is not the case, at least for the launch of Black Ops 6 later this year.

“Upon launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be playable on Xbox and PC for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass for Console members,” Microsoft said.

Leak Confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for PS4 and Xbox One

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will launch on Game Pass

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will likely be available on both current and previous generation consoles. With the launch of Season 4 for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone today, data miners found references to a Black Ops 6 cross-gen bundle.

If this bundle is real, it suggests Activision will offer a version of the game that works on multiple console generations, just like they did with Modern Warfare 3. It’s not surprising that Activision would support PS4 and Xbox One. The PS4 alone has sold over 117 million units, and combined with Xbox One sales, the number of potential players is huge.

The data miners also discovered that people who preorder Black Ops 6 will get the Frank Woods operator. There will also be a more expensive Vault edition of the game, which includes extras like a BlackCell bundle and weapon skins.

This week, Black Ops 6 got its first trailer. The live-action trailer featured glimpses of real-world figures like Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, George H.W. Bush, and Saddam Hussein.

Black Ops 6 is being developed by Raven Software and Treyarch and is expected to be released in October. It will be available on Game Pass from day one. Activision and Microsoft will showcase more about Black Ops 6 on June 9 in a special broadcast dedicated to the new game.

  • Helldivers 2 is Getting a Major Order: Buckle Up for Planetary Obliteration!

Helldivers 2 is Getting a Major Order: Buckle Up for Planetary Obliteration!

After a new major order was introduced on Meridia, Helldivers 2 players faced a problem. Instead of being able to destroy the supercolony, they have encountered a spawn issue that makes the mission much harder than Arrowhead Game Studios planned. It’s been a tough month for Helldivers 2.

Fans were unhappy when a PlayStation Account Link requirement was announced, causing a lot of frustration. After pushback from the fans, the requirement was removed. While that issue is mostly resolved, Arrowhead Game Studios has continued to develop the game’s main story with a new major order.

Helldivers 2 is Getting a Major Order

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead plans to release a hotfix quickly after players reported a serious bug with the current Major Order.

The latest Major Order, called Operation Enduring Peace, aims to destroy Meridia by turning it into a giant black hole using weaponized Dark Fluid. Players think the destruction of Meridia and its supercolony might lead to a new faction, possibly the long-extinct Illuminate.

However, players soon noticed a problem with the Major Order. Bile Titans and breach holes were spawning right on the objective, making it very hard to complete, especially on higher difficulties. Some players called the Major Order a “broken mess.”

In a post on the Helldivers Discord, community manager Baskinator confirmed that a hotfix is on the way: “Thank you to everyone who told us about the spawning bug in the current Major Order. We are working on a hotfix and will deploy it as soon as possible. We’ll let you know when it’s available.”

Hopefully, this hotfix will come out soon, since the Major Order expires early next week. Some players are asking Arrowhead to extend the Major Order so more people can play it after the bug is fixed.

Major Issues Found in Helldivers 2’s Latest Major Order

The same dark fluid that turned some scientists into spaghetti in Helldivers 2 is now being used to destroy a Terminid supercolony in the latest major order. But there’s a problem—the missions involving this dark fluid are extremely hard, and not in a “get better” or “play on an easier level” way. Something is wrong.

Here’s how the mission is supposed to go: You and three teammates land in Meridia, a supercolony that needs to be destroyed. You call in a dark fluid backpack (which can also be used as a jetpack) and rush to a drill site. You set up a drill, defend it, and then escape.

MY BROTHER IN CHRIST THIS IS A TRIVIAL DIFFICULTY MISSION
    byu/1_ConvoBreaker inHelldivers

But the Terminids don’t want you there, which makes sense since it’s their supercolony. The difficulty is expected, but bug breaches, where Terminids come out of holes, can spawn anywhere with no restrictions. Shriekers (flying bugs) are also a huge problem, showing up in massive numbers even on easier levels.

For example, one player was overwhelmed by a swarm of these flying bugs on the game’s “Trivial” difficulty. There’s a big difference between a challenge and your drill getting instantly destroyed by a bile titan spawning too close, or new players being overwhelmed by flying bugs. Most players on the game’s subreddit agree that something is wrong.

Helldivers 2 to Fix Annoying Bug in Meridia Major Order

Helldivers 2 Players Spot Warbond Armor

The new Helldivers 2 Major Order is called Operation Enduring Peace, where players must destroy the Meridian supercolony. To do this, players get a new experimental weapon made of Dark Fluid.

    People are missing the point…
    byu/Funny_Employer_8802 inHelldivers

They need to carry a backpack of Dark Fluid, find a drill site, defend it while the weapon arms itself, and then escape. However, players have found this mission to be harder than expected.

Players trying this mission on Meridia have noticed that Terminids can spawn almost anywhere, making the mission feel broken, even on the easiest level.

Many posts and videos online show the spawn issues, with breaches opening right next to the drill, making it much harder to defend than usual. Also, the flying Terminid enemies, called Shriekers, appear in huge numbers. Reddit user 1_ConvoBreaker showed a large swarm of them even on the Trivial Difficulty level.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Confirmed: Prepare to Return to Silent Hill This Fall!

Right after a busy PlayStation State of Play event, Konami held a Silent Hill Transmission livestream. They shared a lot of information about the different Silent Hill projects they’re working on.

Although they didn’t give any information about Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall, fans got to see new gameplay and find out how to pre-order Silent Hill 2 Remake. They also got a behind-the-scenes look at the new horror movie, Return to Silent Hill.

Keep reading to find out more about everything Konami talked about during the Silent Hill Transmission livestream.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date

Silent Hills 2 Remake Release Date (1)

Silent Hill 2 will launch on October 8th. Since they first announced it in 2022, fans worldwide have been eagerly waiting. To meet these high expectations, they’ve spent a lot of time polishing the game and carefully choosing the right time to release it confidently. This remake stays true to the original and is at its best.

They’ve released a 13-minute gameplay video during the Silent Hill 2 Transmission. It shows exploration in the town and hospital, giving players a good idea of what the actual gameplay will be like. They’ve also shown a new trailer during the PlayStation broadcast, featuring scenes with Angela and the Otherworld.

Pre-orders have started, so take a look at the gameplay video and trailer to see more of what’s in store for Silent Hill 2.

    Silent Hill 2 Remake Story

Silent Hill 2 Remake Steam Update

Silent Hill 2 is known for its intense and layered storytelling, and we wanted to keep that intact in the remake. While some events may happen in different places, their impact on the story remains the same.

They’ve introduced new locations, but we’ve tried to reference the original game as much as possible. This way, returning players will feel at home exploring the foggy streets of Silent Hill again.

The main characters from the original story, James and Maria, are central to our remake too. They’ve kept their emotional journeys true to the original, using motion capture technology to show their feelings more vividly. Sometimes we’ve tweaked their dialogue to add more depth to their interactions.

As many fans know, they didn’t use the original voices for the remake. This decision was based on creative and technical reasons. Relying only on existing dialogue would have limited us in making gameplay improvements like better player guidance.

Instead, they’ve brought in a new cast of voice actors. Luke Roberts and Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, who play James and Maria, have approached their roles with the same care and nuance as the original characters. We believe they were the perfect choices for these roles.

Silent Hill 2 Remake’s Character Models

Silent Hill 2 Remake Steam Update

It seems like every time Konami shows the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, fans aren’t quite happy. It started with the game’s announcement when Bloober Team, known for Layers of Fear and The Medium, was chosen to remake the classic survival horror. Many fans were unsure about this choice.

Now, after new footage was shown during the latest PlayStation showcase, State of Play, fans are upset again—this time, it’s about the character designs, which some say may not do justice to the original.

During the Silent Hill Transmission, which came right after the May 30 State of Play, Konami revealed 13 minutes of gameplay from the remake. In both the Transmission and the State of Play trailer, we saw protagonist James and supporting characters Maria and Angela. Let’s start with James.

Some fans like his new look, saying it’s an improvement from the initial reveal. But others aren’t so sure—they say his new design makes him look a bit like Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil, especially with the blonde hair that’s different from the original.

Then there’s Maria, a character James meets throughout the game, known for her confidence and sexy style. Fans are criticizing her new outfit, which is more plain and less fashionable compared to the original.

People who know the original game well say Maria’s outfit is very important to her character and the story. They’re disappointed that Bloober didn’t try to recreate the iconic details of her outfit in a modern way.

Instead of the leopard print and gold jewelry, she’s wearing a plain black dress and a jacket that’s the same pinkish color as her original outfit.

To make things more confusing, a short look at Return to Silent Hill, a movie based on the second game, showed Maria wearing her original outfit. Fans feel like Bloober might have made a mistake by changing her outfit in the remake.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch on Game Pass: Get Ready to Play at Launch!

Microsoft has confirmed that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its release day.

In a post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft invited fans to its Xbox Games Showcase event and the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Direct on June 9, 2024, at 10 am PT. During this event, they will share more details about the game and show the first in-depth gameplay look at this “dark new chapter” in the Black Ops series.

The announcement was made alongside a live-action reveal trailer called ‘The Truth Lies’. The trailer features world leaders like Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, George H. W. Bush, Colin Powell, and Saddam Hussein giving mysterious speeches. Black Ops 6 is set during the Gulf War in the early ’90s.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Will Launch on Game Pass

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will launch on Game Pass

The company confirmed earlier this week that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass from day one after the information was leaked ahead of schedule. Some people wondered if Microsoft might use the game’s release to change Xbox Game Pass pricing or tiers.

Since last week, Microsoft and Activision have been building excitement for this year’s Call of Duty. A teaser website called TheTruthLies.com has appeared, where visitors can interact with buttons on a TV set. Each channel shows mysterious footage, like the defacement of Mount Rushmore.

The Call of Duty team also shared a live-action teaser trailer for the new game. The description reads, “If it’s the truth you seek, look in the dark 🔥” with the tagline “The Truth Lies.”

It was previously reported that Black Ops 6 will be set during the Gulf War. We will learn more about the game when Microsoft hosts its hour-long presentation dedicated to Black Ops 6 next month.

This event will provide an in-depth look at the gameplay for the next main Call of Duty game, which Microsoft describes as a “dark new chapter” for the Black Ops series.

The Impact of Including Call of Duty in Game Pass

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Officially Announced

Microsoft has changed the way big video games are released. They announced that the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available right away to people who subscribe to its Game Pass service.

Normally, gamers have to pay a lot of money upfront to buy new games when they first come out. But now, with the latest Call of Duty, they can choose to pay a smaller amount every month instead.

Christopher Dring from GamesIndustry.biz told the BBC this is a big deal for Microsoft and the game industry. Microsoft has released games on Game Pass on their launch day before, like Starfield in 2023, but never something as big as Call of Duty.

Call of Duty is one of the most popular game series ever, selling over 425 million copies and making billions of dollars. It’s a big deal for Microsoft because they bought the company that makes Call of Duty, Activision Blizzard, for $69 billion.

Instead of selling Call of Duty the usual way, Microsoft is trying something new. “Call of Duty is the biggest game to come out on a subscription service on the day it is released,” said Mr. Dring. He thinks it’s a big test for subscriptions. If Call of Duty doesn’t get more people to subscribe, then maybe nothing will.

  • Hogwarts Legacy DLC Update Drops: Unveil New Secrets in the Summer Update!

Hogwarts Legacy DLC Update Drops: Unveil New Secrets in the Summer Update!

Hogwarts Legacy developer Avalanche Software has announced its summer update, which will bring new features to the game on June 6.

In a post on Twitter, Avalanche shared details about the update. Players on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC will get the most out of it, as the Haunted Hogsmeade quest, previously exclusive to PlayStation, will now be playable for everyone.

One of the biggest additions is the new photo mode, which will give players a variety of options to take and customize pictures in the game. Additionally, a new quality-of-life feature will allow players to reset their Talent Points.

This update aims to enhance the Hogwarts Legacy experience with new content and features, making it more enjoyable for players on various platforms.

    Hogwarts Legacy DLC Update Drops

    Hogwarts Legacy DLC Update Drops

Fans had almost lost hope, but the wait was worth it.

After months of guessing, the summer update for Hogwarts Legacy has been announced, and it will be available next week.

Despite rumors that the update wouldn’t have many new features, the developers have decided to surprise us.

One of the most exciting parts of this update is the new photo mode, which fans have wanted since the game launched. One Twitter user excitedly posted, “OMG!!!! A PHOTO MODE!!!??? THANK YOU!” This shows how happy people are about this feature.

    But what else is new?

In addition to the photo mode, players will get an Azkaban-inspired outfit, an onyx Hippogriff, and the ‘Haunted Hogsmeade’ DLC, which was previously only for PlayStation users.

Not all players are thrilled with the update, though.

“Not gonna lie, I thought it would be a liiiittle bit more to keep us busy in the world, but it’s still nice,” commented Twitter user @gruene_Feder, adding, “At the same time, I can’t help to feel a little disappointed.”

Fans still love the Harry Potter adventure and want something truly new and exciting, rather than just a few features and a previously exclusive quest.

Even though this update isn’t huge, it offers more than some expected.

Also, a sequel has been almost confirmed for at least one console, which is great news.

For those returning to Hogwarts, you only have to wait a bit longer. The update goes live on June 6, which is just over a week away.

    Hogwarts Legacy’s Free Summer Update

Hogwarts Legacy is not a live game and doesn’t seem to be adding any big paid DLC in the future. However, Portkey and WB have just announced a summer update coming on June 6 that includes some new features. Here’s what’s coming:

    • Photo Mode(!)
    • The ability to reset talent points
    • The Haunted Hogsmeade quest
    • The “Glasses Who Live” (Harry’s glasses)
    • Azkaban Prisoner outfit and coat
    • Felix Felicis Potion recipe
    • Lavender Borealis Broom
    • Onyx Hippogriff mount

Even though the only “new” content is the Haunted Hogsmeade quest, it’s not entirely new. It’s a PlayStation-exclusive quest that is now available on all platforms. The potion, previously a pre-order exclusive, will now show the location of large loot chests on the minimap.

The most exciting addition is the photo mode, which fans have wanted since the game launched. The ability to reset talent points is also nice, though it’s not a full New Game Plus mode, which is something many players wish the game had.

  • PlayStation’s PC Strategy Explained: Friend or Foe for Console Fans?

PlayStation’s PC Strategy Explained: Friend or Foe for Console Fans?

New PlayStation CEOs, Hideaki Nishino and Hermen Hulst, talked about the company’s views on live service games, PC releases, layoffs, and other topics in their first presentation as co-leaders.

In the Sony Game and Network Services Business Segment presentation, Nishino and Hulst shared that “each PlayStation 5 sold generates over $700 in additional spending, which is much higher than the previous generation.”

    PlayStation’s PC Strategy Explained

    PlayStation's PC Strategy Explained
    PlayStation’s PC Strategy Explained

Future PlayStation co-CEO Hermen Hulst recently explained how Sony decides which games to release on PC. In the past, first-party PlayStation games were only available on PlayStation consoles.

However, Sony has started releasing some of these games on PC. This began with Horizon Zero Dawn in 2020, though Death Stranding was technically the first PlayStation exclusive to come to PC a month earlier. Since then, games like Days Gone, 2018’s God of War, and Marvel’s Spider-Man have also been released on PC through platforms like Steam.

In 2024, this trend has continued. Helldivers 2 launched on both PS5 and PC in February. In March, Horizon Forbidden West was released on PC two years after its PS5 debut, and The Last of Us came to PC soon after, following the success of its HBO series.

Most recently, Ghost of Tsushima was ported to PC and received great reviews and high player counts on Steam.

Earlier this week, Hermen Hulst talked about Sony’s strategy for PC ports during a PlayStation business briefing. He explained that Sony has a two-part approach: live-service games like Helldivers 2 are released on PS5 and PC at the same time to attract players on both platforms.

For PlayStation’s story-focused first-party games, which Hulst called the “backbone” of the company, they use PC ports to encourage new players to buy a PS5.

Future PlayStation Head Explains Dual Strategy for PC Games

This explains why recent PlayStation games that come to PC are often older titles, while their sequels remain only on PS5. For example, PC players can try 2018’s God of War and then might want a PS5 to continue the story in God of War Ragnarok.

Similarly, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales came to PC in 2022, one year before Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on PS5. As Hulst said, the goal is to get PC gamers interested in the first part of a series so they will buy a PS5 for the next part.

There are rumors that Sony will announce PC versions of games like Demon’s Souls, God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and The Last of Us Part 2 later this year. While these are just rumors, they correctly predicted the Ghost of Tsushima port.

Insiders now think a God of War Ragnarok port might be revealed soon, possibly during the upcoming PlayStation State of Play livestream.

PlayStation Reveals Immediate PC Release for Live-Service Games, Delayed for Single-Player Games

PlayStation has explained how it releases games on PC. Live-service games will come out on PC and PlayStation 5 at the same time, but big single-player games will not.

One of PlayStation’s CEOs, Hermen Hulst, talked about this during a business presentation. Hulst said the reason for this strategy is to attract more people to the PlayStation platform.

He explained that live-service games will be released on both PC and PS5 at the same time. However, single-player games, which are very important to PlayStation, will come to PC later. This helps introduce new players to PlayStation games and encourages them to buy a PS5 for sequels.

Hulst also mentioned that bringing PlayStation games to other media, like TV shows and movies, helps attract new players. For example, The Last of Us TV show on HBO and the Gran Turismo movie have brought new fans to PlayStation games.

This isn’t surprising since we saw Helldivers 2 launch on both PS5 and PC at the same time earlier this year, while Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut came to PC much later after its PS5 release. But it’s good to hear PlayStation’s plan for the future.

Destiny 2’s Final Shape Expansion: Witness the End of the Light and Darkness Saga

People who are excited about Destiny 2: The Final Shape, which is supposed to come out on June 4, 2024, should avoid the internet for a few days. This is because PlayStation-owned Bungie accidentally released the whole expansion early, and now spoilers are everywhere.

According to Eurogamer, many players went to social media, surprised and upset, when they found out the expansion was available to play on May 29 after a server update. This expansion is supposed to be the big finale of Destiny 2’s 10-year story.

Some players, like Cupcake_0f_Doom on Reddit, who streamed Destiny 2 instead of playing a downloaded version, were automatically put into the new content.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Leaks

    Destiny 2's Final Shape Expansion

Bungie’s Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion is supposed to come out on June 4th. However, some players got to play it early today. People on Reddit and Discord have been sharing pictures and videos of the new game content, which they accessed through Sony’s PS5 cloud streaming service.

For at least five hours, players could explore the whole DLC. They shared spoilers about raid gear, seasonal content, The Final Shape campaign, missions, and even cutscenes. Videos showing new weapons and gear have also been uploaded to YouTube.

The Final Shape is expected to be Destiny 2’s most important expansion, wrapping up the nearly ten-year-long light and darkness saga. In it, players will fight The Witness, the main villain who controls the Black Fleet, a group of pyramid ships.

This expansion will also introduce a new Prismatic Subclass, which combines the powers of Light and Darkness, letting players mix abilities from different damage types. This new subclass could greatly change the way the game is played.

Sony and Bungie have fixed the mistake that allowed early access, but the leak has already caused a lot of problems. Spoilers and gameplay details are spreading across forums, social media, Discord, and Reddit, making it hard for fans to avoid them before the official launch on Tuesday.

    Destiny 2’s Final Shape Expansion

Destiny 2 Zero Hour Release Date

The release date for Destiny 2: The Final Shape is very close, and this expansion will end the game’s Dark and Light saga to start something new. However, the new DLC leaked early, and Bungie is trying to fix the situation.

According to a post by u/Soracaz on the Destiny subreddit, the entire DLC was available to play early on Thursday, May 30. Players could try the full campaign, season content, raid gear, and raid mechanics. Soracaz warns that there are major story spoilers and advises players to stay off the internet.

CODE RED: SPOILERS INCOMING EVERYWHERE. THE DLC HAS LEAKED
    byu/Soracaz inDestinyTheGame

Bungie acted quickly, shutting down the Destiny 2 servers on PC to control the damage. While some people were still playing the DLC for a short time, it is now inaccessible. Soracaz mentioned that a lot of content is already leaked with many videos and pictures ready to be shared.

The subreddit’s moderators locked Soracaz’s thread, saying they have a zero-tolerance policy for any spoilers due to the serious nature of this leak. Bungie has not made an official statement yet, and it is unclear when the PC servers will be back online.

  • Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Gameplay Trailer: Can He Handle the Fatalities?

Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Gameplay Trailer: Can He Handle the Fatalities?

Vought International’s superman and breast milk enthusiast, Homelander, is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 on June 4. In his first gameplay trailer, we see some familiar scenes from The Boys. Homelander uses his eye lasers to slice his enemies, like Sub-Zero, in half and throws Liu Kang through a jet engine, sending airline passengers to their deaths.

Mortal Kombat 1’s version of Homelander looks true to the character played by Antony Starr in The Boys (though Starr isn’t voicing him in this DLC).

We see Homelander perform some of his signature moves, like a powerful ear clap and launching his opponent into the upper atmosphere. Similar to another character, Omni-Man, Homelander can hover, fly, and attack with super speed during his fights.

Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Gameplay Trailer

Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Gameplay Trailer

In Homelander’s first gameplay, he’s paired with Ferra, a new Kameo Fighter. Mortal Kombat fans will remember Ferra as Torr’s partner from Mortal Kombat X.

She acts the same way, helping in fights and being used as a projectile. We see two of Homelander’s Fatalities and one of Ferra’s, where she splits her enemy in half.

Homelander and Ferra are part of MK1’s Kombat Pack add-on. This pack also includes characters like Quan Chi, DC’s Peacemaker, Invincible’s Omni-Man, and Ermac. The last character, Takeda Takahashi, will be added this summer. The Kombat Pack also has five Kameo Fighters: Tremor, Ferra, Janet Cage, Khameleon, and Mavado.

The Kombat Pack costs $15.99 and is on sale until Sunday. It’s also included in the Premium Edition of the game, which costs $109.99.

New DLC Kameo Fighter Ferra Introduced

Mortal Kombat 1’s next superpowered guest fighter is Homelander from The Boys. In a new gameplay trailer, he shows off his powerful moves. Homelander will be available for Kombat Pack owners on June 4 and for everyone else on June 11.

Homelander, the patriotic and crazy leader of The Seven, defeats his enemies with a fighting style similar to Superman’s in the Injustice series. The trailer also introduces Ferra, a new DLC Kameo fighter. Ferra, the small and wild partner from the Ferra & Torr team in Mortal Kombat X, will join the game in June.

Homelander will be part of the Year 1 DLC roster, along with Peacemaker, Invincible’s Omni-Man, Ermac, Quan-Chi, and the upcoming Takeda. Mortal Kombat 1 will also get a story expansion, but there are no details about it yet.

    Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Character

    Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander

Mortal Kombat 1 will add Homelander as a downloadable content character. He will be available on June 4 for Kombat Pack owners and on June 11 for everyone else, according to Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios. Ferra will join the Kameo roster later in June.

Homelander is the most powerful being on the planet and the leader of The Seven, a top superhero team managed by Vought International. He is the strongest “Supe” in a world where superheroes are created.

Homelander looks like the ultimate patriot and protector, but he is a murderous, selfish sociopath who craves attention, love, and power. He destroys his enemies and seeks power not just in his world, but in other realms too. In the new video, Homelander shows his dominance with super strength, aerial attacks, and eye lasers.

How to Get Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1?

Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Gameplay Trailer (1)

Homelander will be available in Mortal Kombat 1 on June 4, 2024, for early access players. After that, anyone can buy him separately starting on June 11. Homelander is also part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack, which includes the first wave of DLC characters.

The Kombat Pack includes a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, early access to six DLC characters (Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda Takahashi), and five DLC Kameo Fighters.

You can buy the Kombat Pack now as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition, or you can buy it separately for $19.99.

No Man’s Sky Adrift is Out Now: Face the Abandoned Universe Alone!

No Man’s Sky’s next big update, Adrift, lets players explore a universe where all other lifeforms are gone.

In Adrift, players can experience the game in a new way, being completely alone for the first time. This update removes all NPCs, meaning there are no shops, no trading, no shortcuts, and no help.

This makes the survival experience more dangerous. Sandworms roam freely, fiend eggs spread across planets, and buildings are broken and rusted. The worlds are also filled with graves of lost travelers.

No Man’s Sky Adrift is Out Now

No Man's Sky Adrift is out now

No Man’s Sky has been out for almost eight years, but players have never truly felt alone in its vast star systems. This is changing with the new update, Expedition 13: Adrift, which changes the game in a big way.

The blog post announcing the update explains that Adrift aims to bring back the feeling of early versions of No Man’s Sky when there were “no NPCs, no shops, and no help.” To do this, the update removes all lifeforms from the game and makes all buildings look broken and rusted.

There are also more sandworms and fiend eggs for players to encounter. However, players can still find a “ghostly frigate” and a Hauler starship called the Iron Vulture to help them out.

Adrift also includes more ship customization, more multiplayer missions at the Space Anomaly Nexus, and special rewards and collectibles for the Adrift update. The patch notes show that the update fixes bugs, improves memory usage, enhances the audio of planetary titan worms, and makes other small changes.

The expedition will last for about seven weeks, so players should start soon if they want to experience it. The last update, Omega, added new planetary missions and a starship called the Starborn Runner.

No Man’s Sky Is Set to Become the Most Isolated Videogame Ever

It’s hard not to compare No Man’s Sky and Starfield, even though they are different in practice. Both are ambitious space games that arrived with a lot of hype and were disappointing at launch. Starfield’s Shattered Space might be Bethesda’s RPG comeback.

However, after eight years, Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky has recovered and become one of the best comeback stories in gaming, along with Cyberpunk 2077 and Fallout 76.

The new No Man’s Sky update, Adrift, is very different. There are no added quests or extra content. It’s a bold new version of the game based on one idea: what if the entire universe was empty?

Inspired by early versions of No Man’s Sky, Adrift lets players explore the game’s worlds, galaxies, and planets without meeting any lifeforms. If you’ve ever felt the fear of being completely alone in the universe, No Man’s Sky Adrift is for you.

There are no shops, trading, shortcuts, or help. You are truly alone, making No Man’s Sky the ultimate survival game. Some dangers remain, like giant sandworms and spreading fiend eggs.

Everything else is abandoned, rusted, and ghostly. It’s a lonely but peaceful and meditative experience, similar to the game’s beginning before all the updates.

A new Hauler starship called the Iron Vulture, will help keep you alive, and there’s a large new frigate where you can rest and replenish before exploring again. There’s no release date yet for No Man’s Sky Adrift, but Hello Games will share more information soon.

  • Call of Duty Cheat Maker Ordered to Pay Activision Over $14 Million!

Call of Duty Cheat Maker Ordered to Pay Activision Over $14 Million!

This week, Bungie isn’t the only game developer winning against people who make cheats. According to VentureBeat, Activision also won its lawsuit against the companies EngineOwning UG and Garnatz Enterprise Ltd, and 11 people. They will get $14.465 million in damages and about $293,000 for attorney fees.

EngineOwning also has to give Activision its website domain name.

Call of Duty Cheat Maker Ordered to Pay Activision

Call of Duty cheat maker ordered to pay Activision

Activision won another legal battle against a cheat-making company called EngineOwning, which it sued in 2022. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald ordered EngineOwning and others to pay Activision $14.465 million for making and selling cheats for Call of Duty.

They also have to give up their website, stop making and selling cheats, and pay $292,912 in attorney fees to Activision.

You can find the judge’s decision in a PDF file here. The website, engineowning.to, is still running and offers cheats like an “Aimbot” that automatically aims and fires, or lets players see through walls in games like Call of Duty.

Previously, Activision won $3 million in settlements with two people involved with EngineOwning, Ignacio Gayduchenko and Manuel Santiago. However, many others who were sued did not respond to the lawsuit.

The recent ruling named EngineOwning and its founders, Valentin Rick and Leon Risch, among others involved in managing and marketing the cheats, moderating the site, and an authorized reseller named Pascal Classen. Since they didn’t respond, Activision asked the court to decide, leading to the default judgment.

The judge found EngineOwning and its associates guilty of breaking the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. They also intentionally encouraged players to buy and use cheats, even though Call of Duty’s rules forbid it.

Gaming companies are increasingly using the courts to fight cheatmakers. In 2022, Bungie settled with Destiny 2 cheat makers for $13.5 million. Bungie also won $63,000 in another case, marking a rare jury decision in such matters. AimJunkies, the defendant in that case, chose to fight the case rather than ignore or settle it.

First Call of Duty Black Ops 6 teaser appears

Activision has won a lawsuit against the cheating company EngineOwning.

According to VentureBeat, the court awarded Activision $14.4 million in damages and $292,912 in legal fees. This decision was made by the United States District Court of the Central District of California.

The court also ordered EngineOwning, a Germany-based website, to transfer its domain name to Activision and stop selling cheats.

EngineOwning sells cheats for Call of Duty and other games like Counter-Strike, Battlefield, and Titanfall.

Activision filed the lawsuit in January 2022, claiming that the cheats from EngineOwning caused a lot of damage to its reputation and made it lose a lot of money.

  • Top 5 Evangelion Games: Get in the Robot, Gamer!

Top 5 Evangelion Games: Get in the Robot, Gamer!

Anyone who likes anime has probably heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion or just Evangelion. It’s one of the most important and unique anime series ever made. If you haven’t heard of it (how?!), the story is about a group called NERV that recruits teenagers to pilot giant robots called Evangelions to fight creatures called Angels.

The main character, Shinji Ikari, is the son of NERV’s director, and the series follows his battles against monsters and his struggles.

Evangelion is very popular worldwide and has expanded into merchandise, advertisements, collaborations, and video games. In this list, we will look at the best Evangelion video games.

Updated on March 1, 2023, by Axel Bosso: Since the last Evangelion movie was released in 2021 and is supposed to be the end of the series, there haven’t been any new announcements.

But we decided to update this list to find the best Neon Genesis Evangelion video games. Sadly, most of these games are still hard to find, but you can watch gameplay videos to check them out.

    5. Evangelion VR The Throne Of Souls: Berserk

Evangelion VR The Throne Of Souls Berserk

Have you ever wanted to know what it feels like to be an EVA pilot? If you’re going to Tokyo and visit Shinjuku Kabukicho, you can try the VR game Evangelion VR Throne of Souls: Berserk.

This game is part of the “VR ZONE” attraction. Up to four players can feel like they’re really inside an EVA, syncing with LCL, fighting the 10th Angel, and experiencing the power of an EVA going berserk. It’s a unique experience that anyone visiting Japan should try.

    4. Neon Genesis Evangelion Online

    Neon Genesis Evangelion Online

Neon Genesis Evangelion Online was a mobile game released in 2016. It was a hack-and-slash game where players controlled a team of three EVAs, exploring a map of Tokyo-3 and fighting waves of enemies.

When you completed levels, you earned loot, which included items to upgrade your EVA pilot and make the EVA units’ moves stronger. There were also special moves where the EVAs would team up to deal huge damage to an opponent. Sadly, Evangelion Online shut down in 2018.

    3. Neon Genesis Evangelion: Battle Orchestra

    Neon Genesis Evangelion Battle Orchestra

The emotional story of Shinji and his friends trying to deal with their issues, connect with others, and face their childhood traumas is a big part of what makes Evangelion such a gripping series. However, some people might know the series for the exciting battles between the EVA units and the Angels.

Battle Orchestra is a game that lets players relive their favorite fights and create their epic battles. It’s an Evangelion fighting game where you can control every EVA Unit and Angel from the series. The game feels like Super Smash Bros with its 2D characters and 3D backgrounds and environments.

    2. Shinseki Evangelion 2 Evangelions

    Shinseki Evangelion 2 Evangelions

Shinseiki Evangelion 2 Evangelion is a game only released in Japan for the PS2 in 2003 and later relaunched for the PSP in 2006. This game is based on extensive interviews with the series creator, Hideaki Anno.

The game has two modes. In one mode, you control the EVAs to fight against Angels. In the other mode, you follow a story where you can play as different characters from the series, including the EVA pilots, NERV staff, and even Pen-Pen. You unlock more characters as you progress through certain events in the game.

You use these units to fight through various stages in the game, which has its own original story.

  • Top 5 Focus Entertainment Games That Will Blow Your Mind

Top 5 Focus Entertainment Games That Will Blow Your Mind

Focus Entertainment is a company from France that has been making and releasing video games for over 20 years. Some of the popular games they have released have been very successful and praised by critics.

However, not all of their games are liked by everyone. Examples of such games include Call of Cthulhu by Cyanide Studio, Atomic Heart by Mundfish, and Aliens: Fireteam Elite by Cold Iron Studios.

Focus Entertainment has a large collection of games, with many hidden treasures and big hits. These games have won many awards from various industry groups and have received excellent reviews from critics.

    5. Blacktail

    Blacktail

Blacktail is a game made by a Polish developer called The Parasight. It tells the story of Baba Yaga, a character from Slavic myths. Usually, Baba Yaga is shown as an ugly monster, but in this game, you play as a young Baba Yaga, exploring colorful mythological worlds and fighting other monsters.

Blacktail is the first game from The Parasight. It’s a story-driven first-person shooter and crafting game where you use a bow, arrows, and magic. One interesting feature is its morality system, which lets you decide if your Baba Yaga will be good or evil in her witchcraft.

    4. Shady Part Of Me

    Shady Part Of Me

An interesting thing about the indie game Shady Part of Me is that it was released shortly after it was announced at the 2020 Game Awards. The studio Douze Dixièmes, now part of Focus Entertainment, created a beautiful hand-drawn art style with watercolor and pencil shading, similar to the game Little Nightmares.

The gameplay involves solving puzzles using shadows and light, switching between 2D and 3D views. It tells its story through the environment and narration, like the game What Remains of Edith Finch. The main character is voiced by Hannah Murray, who played Gilly on Game of Thrones.

    3. Curse Of The Dead Gods

    Curse Of The Dead Gods

Passtech Games has released four games with Focus Entertainment. They have moved to a top-down view style with strategy and roguelike elements. They perfected this style with their 2021 game, Curse of the Dead Gods, which is often compared to Hades because of its similar combat and story.

However, Curse of the Dead Gods has its unique boss designs based on its mythology. In the game, you explore a randomly generated maze filled with dangerous traps. As you progress, you can earn new weapons. You also have to keep an eye on a corruption meter, which can curse you and make the game harder if it fills up.

    2. A Plague Tale: Innocence And A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Innocence and its sequel, Requiem, are survival horror games that have been nominated for awards. They tell the story of a young brother and sister. The developer, Asobo Studio, is known for making non-horror games like Microsoft Flight Simulator and Disney Pixar games, so these horror games are a big accomplishment for them.

In these games, set during Europe’s Hundred Years’ War, Amicia and her brother Hugo use only a sling to solve puzzles and survive. They must avoid huge swarms of rats that can eat anything in their path and escape from soldiers trying to capture Hugo.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a fantastic sequel that builds on the first game. It has even better visuals, more interesting gameplay, new characters, and improved weapons.

    1. Chained Echoes

    Chained Echoes

Chained Echoes is a game made by a single designer from Germany, Matthias Linda. It’s a tribute to classic SNES 16-bit JRPGs and turn-based strategy games, and it has received a high score of 91 on Metacritic.

The game is about bringing peace to a fantasy continent called Valandis, a story that might seem familiar. However, it stands out with its interesting characters, a customizable airship, and an evil church, offering a unique adventure.

In the game, you and your team travel through the beautiful landscapes of Valais. Besides the fantasy elements, there’s also a steampunk theme that adds to the combat system. You can get mechanical suits to fight enemies in the air, and these suits also let you fly.

  • MultiVersus Launch Trailer Reveals New Characters: Get Ready to Brawl with Jason and Agent Smith!

MultiVersus Launch Trailer Reveals New Characters: Get Ready to Brawl with Jason and Agent Smith!

After being inactive for almost a year, MultiVersus is finally changing from its beta version to the full game with new characters and features.

Player First Games recently announced the official launch times for MultiVersus on May 28. They also shared some details about what players can expect when they log into the Warner Bros. platform fighter.

MultiVersus Launch Trailer Reveals New Characters

MultiVersus Launch Trailer Reveals New Characters

Developer Player First Games and publisher Warner Bros. Games have released the launch trailer for their upcoming platform fighter, MultiVersus.

The trailer seems to confirm that Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees and The Matrix’s Agent Smith will be joining the game’s roster as new characters. This trailer comes just a few weeks before MultiVersus is set to (re)launch next week.

The trailer shows about two minutes of MultiVersus gameplay with various characters. Towards the end, the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill, is seen sitting on the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones. Then, unexpectedly, Jason Voorhees and Agent Smith appear next to him, suggesting that they will be part of the launch day roster.

MultiVersus is a free-to-play game and will be available on May 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

    MultiVersus Release Time

According to their latest update, MultiVersus will be launching on consoles at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET, when players can start updating or downloading the game.

However, PC players will need to wait a bit longer until 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET for their release.

To manage server load and prevent crashes, Player First Games plans to gradually allow users into the game in waves. They will announce each wave on their X/Twitter account before it begins.

This is a smart move considering that the original beta launch of MultiVersus set a record for the most players in a fighting game on Steam, a record it still holds if interest remains high.

At launch, new characters like Batman’s The Joker (voiced by Mark Hamill), Adventure Time’s Banana Guard, and Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees will be playable. The Matrix’s Agent Smith will join in Season 1 later.

In addition to new characters, existing ones have been updated with new attacks, and there are new stages, improved netcode, and single-player content in Rifts Mode. Essentially, the game has been completely reworked from its old version.

Players who participated in the beta release of MultiVersus will get the Season 1 premium battle pass for free if they log in by June 11. This includes the premium Gleamium currency and Jason Voorhees as rewards.

It will be interesting to see if MultiVersus can capture the same excitement it did in 2022 and keep players engaged and coming back for more.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3 Director Speaks Out: The Challenges of Quality Over Crunch

Baldur’s Gate 3 Director Speaks Out: The Challenges of Quality Over Crunch

Larian Studios is not making the next Baldur’s Gate game, but the story director of the third game doesn’t mind what it’s like, as long as it’s not made just for money.

We all know that for rights holders and executives, sequels to popular series are often made just to make money. With how successful Baldur’s Gate 3 has been since it came out last year, someone will likely make a sequel.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Director Speaks Out

Baldurs Gate 3 Jaheira Build Guide
Baldurs Gate 3 Jaheira Build Guide

A developer from Baldur’s Gate 3 said that Larian Studios tried coming up with ideas for Baldur’s Gate 4, but none of them were exciting.

At the Digital Dragons event in Poland, Adam Smith, the narrative director for Baldur’s Gate 3, talked about this. Larian Studios recently announced they wouldn’t be making Baldur’s Gate 4. If there is another game in the series, it will be made by a different studio for the publisher Wizards of the Coast.

Smith said, “We didn’t have any unfinished ideas for Baldur’s Gate 3, so we wanted to move on to new projects. We tried brainstorming ideas for Baldur’s Gate 4, but none of them excited us. We realized we didn’t have the passion for it, so we decided not to do it. It’s great to work in a place where making money isn’t the only goal.”

Smith also talked about why they didn’t make any DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3. Earlier this year, Larian’s head, Swen Vincke, said they considered making DLC but canceled it because no one on the team was excited about it. Some team members even thanked him for canceling it.

Smith explained, “We discussed the DLC, but it felt like we would just be repeating ourselves. We told the stories we wanted to tell. Some people might want more endings, but we felt we had completed our story. We didn’t want to force it.”

Less Crunch on Baldur’s Gate 3 Compared to Previous Games

Baldurs Gate 3 Trial On PlayStation
Baldurs Gate 3 Trial On PlayStation

Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke has admitted that the Baldur’s Gate 3 team had to work overtime, a practice known as “crunch,” to finish the game on time.

Speaking at the Digital Dragons conference, Vincke said that while some overtime was necessary, it was less than what the studio had done for previous games. He mentioned that unexpected challenges came up during development.

Vincke clarified that the team didn’t excessively crunch, but they did have to work a bit later sometimes to complete Baldur’s Gate 3. Most employees would leave by 8pm, and weekend work was very rare.

He explained, “I think, to be honest, you will always have a little bit when you’re trying to finish something, especially when there’s so much complexity that needs to be brought together.”

Crunch is a controversial issue in the video game industry. Developers like CD Projekt Red, known for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher, have been criticized for mandatory overtime. However, CD Projekt Red has stated they are moving away from that practice.

Silent Hill Transmission Announced: Fog Lifts, New Details Emerge

In October 2022, Konami had a live online event to show new games from its popular horror series, Silent Hill. This week, we can expect some big news and updates about those games and maybe more.

    Silent Hill Transmission Announced

    Silent Hill Transmission Announced

Konami has announced a live stream event called “Silent Hill Transmission” on Thursday, May 30, at 4 PM PT/7 PM ET. During this event, they will share updates on Silent Hill games, give a deeper look at a new Silent Hill movie, and show new merchandise.

They shared this news on Twitter but didn’t give more details about what we will see. The official Silent Hill Twitter account invited fans to join the event on their YouTube channel for the second “Silent Hill Transmission.”

The first Silent Hill Transmission was on October 19, 2022, and revealed several new projects, including:

    • Silent Hill 2 Remake by Bloober Team, which got a new trailer in January 2024 but no release date.
    • Silent Hill: Townfall, a spinoff from No Code Studios.
    • Silent Hill f, a story-driven spinoff set in 1960s Japan.
    • Silent Hill: Ascension, an immersive project that came out in 2023 but didn’t meet fan expectations.
    • Return to Silent Hill, a new movie directed by Christophe Gans, who also directed the 2006 Silent Hill movie.

Recently, on May 16, we saw an image of Pyramid Head from the new film. This movie is an adaptation of Silent Hill 2.

Konami Invites Fans to Second Silent Hill Transmission

    Silent Hill Transmission Announced (1)

Konami has invited everyone to watch the second Silent Hill Transmission. In this show, they promise to share game updates, a closer look at the new movie, and new merchandise. They announced this on Twitter. The event will happen on Thursday, May 30, at 4 PM PDT (or your local time).

In the first Transmission event in 2022, Konami announced the remake of Silent Hill 2 by the Bloober Team after many rumors.

The event was full of exciting news, including the new games Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall by No Code Studios. They also announced the new movie Return to Silent Hill, a follow-up to the 2006 film.

Silent Hills 2 Remake Release Date

During the first Transmission event, Konami announced Silent Hill: Townfall, Silent Hill f, Silent Hill: Ascension, and a new movie called Return to Silent Hill. So far, only Ascension has been released, while the others are still being worked on.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake got a second trailer showing gameplay in January’s State of Play, followed by another teaser on social media.

However, there hasn’t been much new information since then. Series producer Motoi Okamoto said a few months ago that the project is in its “final stages.” There were rumors it might appear in a PlayStation Showcase, but that seems unlikely now with this new dedicated event coming up.

One of the biggest issues in the game’s development has been the conflict between Bloober Team and Konami. Bloober Team, known for games like Layers of Fear and The Medium, responded to a worried fan on social media, blaming the lack of updates on Konami.

They were also unhappy with the combat trailer shown during State of Play and the negative feedback from fans. In an interview, studio head Piotr Babieno said the trailer didn’t “capture the spirit of the game” and believes people will have a different opinion when they see more gameplay.

Although it has been quiet since then, it looks like Konami and Bloober Team are now ready to show more of the project, possibly including new gameplay and a release date.
