Overwatch 2 Balance Update: DPS Heroes Rejoice, Tanks Face Adjustments

In Overwatch 2, Season 10 is going on strong, and the big tank hero, Orisa, has been ruling the game. But that might change soon.

They’re making Orisa a bit weaker by changing her Fortify ability. It won’t last as long, and she’ll move slower while using it. Also, her Javelin Spin ability will take longer to recharge.

Another hero, Venture, is also getting nerfed. Their attacks won’t be as powerful, and their big move, Tectonic Shock, will be harder to use because it’ll cost more.

But for the damaged heroes, things are looking up. They’re all getting stronger because now when they hurt enemies, it’ll also make it harder for those enemies to get healed. With Orisa getting weaker, this might shake up the game and make her less popular.

They also fixed some bugs in the game, like problems with D.Va’s messages and issues with Venture’s Drill Dash ability. So, the game should be running smoother now.

Gray Zone Warfare: Devs Unleash Performance-Boosting Secrets

Gray Zone Warfare just came out on Steam early access, right when Escape from Tarkov, the big game of this type, is having some problems.

But players are saying that the new game doesn’t run very well, at least not at the start. Luckily, the developers have some advice to help make it run smoother on your computer.

Gray Zone Warfare PS5 Release Date
Gray Zone Warfare PS5 Release Date

First, they say to pick the server with the lowest delay, which makes sense. But if you’re waiting a long time to get in, they suggest joining the Lamang Recovery Initiative group.

It’s not as crowded right now, so you might get into games faster with them. Just remember, you have to stick with that group until the game resets.

The developers also give some tips for adjusting your graphics settings based on what kind of graphics card you have. If you have an Nvidia 30xx series card, they suggest using FSR with certain settings.

For a 40xx series card, they recommend DLSS and turning on a setting in Windows. For AMD cards, they suggest using FSR and adjusting settings to balance performance and quality. And if you have an Intel card, they recommend a different upscaling method.

You can find all these settings in the game’s graphics options menu.

They also mention that sometimes the game might not run smoothly, especially when you’re exploring new areas. This might be because the game is loading things as you move around. Once it’s loaded everything, it should run better.

Some players, like Pestily, a well-known Tarkov player, have set all their graphics settings to the lowest level to make sure the game runs smoothly, especially when they’re streaming it. That’s what a lot of serious Tarkov players have been doing for a while now.

  • MW3’s Secret Weapon: This Assault Rifle is a Warzone 3 Demon in Disguise

MW3’s Secret Weapon: This Assault Rifle is a Warzone 3 Demon in Disguise

In Warzone, certain guns are popular and used a lot, like the HRM SMG, MORS sniper, and some long-range automatic weapons such as the Pulemyot, Bruen, or SOA Subverter.

But other guns can also be good, even though they’re not used as much. One of these underrated guns is the SVA 545.

Not many people talk about the SVA in discussions about the best guns. Some people like it and use it, but it’s not very common to see someone using it. However, it could be a really powerful weapon if you give it a chance.

Here’s how you should set up your SVA to make it as effective as possible in Warzone:

    • Use the VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor for the muzzle.
    • Choose the STV Precision Barrel for the barrel.
    • For the optic, go with the JAK Glassless Optic.
    • Equip the Bruen Heavy Support Grip as the under-barrel.
    • Use the 60 Round Mag for the magazine.

Of course, you can adjust these choices depending on how you like to play and what you prefer. For example, if you’re playing in Urzikstan, you might prefer the Corio Eagleseye 2.5x optic.

But if you’re playing on Rebirth Island, you might want to use something different, like the Mane V6 Stock or 5.45 High Grain Rounds instead of the under-barrel.

The SVA got a big improvement in the April 9 update, which made it more powerful and competitive with the popular guns.

Since not many people noticed these changes, it’ll be interesting to see if there are any more adjustments to the gun in the Season 3 Reloaded update on May 1.

  • Gray Zone Warfare: A Love Letter to Tarkov, Plagued by a Performance Curse

Gray Zone Warfare: A Love Letter to Tarkov, Plagued by a Performance Curse

Sometimes I wonder if I can say I’m a fan of shooting games where you have to escape, especially when I don’t enjoy the most popular game of that type: Escape From Tarkov.

I tried playing it, but I didn’t like it much. It’s a really tough game where you can lose all your stuff easily. I’ve thought about giving it another try many times, but I never do.

Gray Zone Warfare PS5 Release Date
Gray Zone Warfare PS5 Release Date

That’s why I’m excited to try Gray Zone Warfare, a new game that’s similar to Tarkov. People who love Tarkov are excited about it. Even if I’m not good at it, at least I’ll be bad at it with other new players.

But Gray Zone isn’t just a copy of Tarkov. In Gray Zone, you can work together with other players, which you can’t do in Tarkov. Before you start playing, you have to join one of three groups.

This choice is important because you can only team up with people from your group. You can only switch groups every few months when the game resets.

Each group in Gray Zone has a base camp on a big island. People in your group are your friends, so it’s less scary to play alone. Especially when you’re new, it feels nice to have strangers helping you out.

Right now, while the game is still new, there are places on the map where you’re pretty safe from enemies. It’s like safe zones in a game like World of Warcraft. The closer you get to the middle or other groups’ areas, the more likely you are to run into enemies.

What’s cool about Gray Zone is that when you die, you don’t lose everything like you do in Tarkov. You come back to life at your base camp.

You can start over with new stuff or go back to where you died and try to get your things back. If another player killed you, they probably took your best stuff. But if it was a computer-controlled character, your stuff would still be there.

Because it’s easy to get your stuff back after you die in Gray Zone, I didn’t feel too bad when I died a couple of times.

The first time, I died right away for some weird reason. The second time, I had to step away from the game for a bit, and a computer character got me. But both times, I got all my stuff back, which doesn’t happen in Tarkov unless you have friends who can help you.

Gear Up, Soldiers! Black Ops Gulf War Officially Teased for Microsoft’s June Showcase

Microsoft has hinted at a big reveal happening on June 9, right after the Xbox Games Showcase. Many people think this could be the official unveiling of this year’s Call of Duty game, Black Ops Gulf War.

In a teaser image that looks very Black Ops-themed, Microsoft covered up some words and drew thick, black lines over it. There are also three wolf heads on top of a shield, hovering over what seems to be the Capitol Building in Washington DC.

According to the latest leaks and rumors, the Black Ops Gulf War might have an open-world campaign. It’s also said to bring back a round-based zombie mode after a long time, and the multiplayer mode might have some remastered maps from previous games.

This Call of Duty game has been in the works for a while, and people are excited about it. But it’s also a crucial moment for the Call of Duty series because some fans have been feeling less excited about recent games.

  • Tekken 8’s Season 1 Trailer Drops: Meet DLC Character Lidia Sobieska!

Tekken 8’s Season 1 Trailer Drops: Meet DLC Character Lidia Sobieska!

Bandai Namco Entertainment of America just revealed in a new trailer for Tekken 8 that Lidia Sobieska is joining the game as the second DLC character. They also shared a plan for season 1, which includes adding a photo mode, updating the story, and making gameplay adjustments.

    Tekken 8 Beta Error

The gameplay tweaks are coming in the spring, while the summer will bring the photo mode and a cool new “Seaside Resort” stage. Then, in the fall, the story will get an update. Plus, there’s a hint about a new mode called “Ghost vs Ghost” and an “Online Practice” feature.

Eddy Gordo was the first DLC character, arriving on April 4. He’s been a part of Tekken since Tekken 3. Players who got the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition got to play with him early on April 1.

Tekken 8 came out on January 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It kicked off with 32 characters. By February, it had sold over 2 million copies worldwide.

The story of Tekken 8 picks up about six months after Tekken 7. It’s so epic that the Guinness World Records recognize Tekken for having the longest-running storyline in video game history.

You can play as a bunch of characters, including Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Nina Williams, and many more. There’s also a Tekken shop where you can get extra stuff for free or buy it. The DLC characters will have their stories expanded in a special mode, and the Tekken World Tour was added in April.

They’ll keep updating the shop with new stuff, like the UNIQLO UT x Tekken pack. Plus, they’re planning to expand the story mode in the summer, exploring how different characters fit into the main story. And guess what? It’s all free!

  • Stellar Blade Slashes to the Top: Highest User-Rated Game of 2024

Stellar Blade Slashes to the Top: Highest User-Rated Game of 2024

The game has a high user rating of 9.2 out of 10, based on 1,899 ratings. That’s the highest rating for any game with a lot of ratings. There are a few games with higher scores, but they only have a handful of ratings.

Just to compare, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth got a 9.0 from 3,350 ratings, Helldivers 2 got an 8.2 from 1,558 ratings, and Persona 3 Reload got an 8.5 from 645 ratings.

Stellar Blade is the perfect game for both beginners to the Souls-like genre and fans of character action games. They said it’s like a mix of God of War Ragnarok and Bayonetta, offering a good challenge and satisfying combat.

Some players have complained about lag in the game when dodging and parrying, but the director says it’s on purpose.

The game got a New Game Plus mode in a patch right on release day.

And in another update, they removed some graffiti from the game that had a racial slur in it by mistake.

The developers are planning to release some DLC for the game, including free costume bundles for the main character, Eve. There are already 30 outfits to choose from in the base game.

  • Is Tekken 8 Too Easy? Bot Crushes Ranked With Single Button Strategy

Is Tekken 8 Too Easy? Bot Crushes Ranked With Single Button Strategy

A fan-made bot for Tekken 8 managed to climb up to the online rank of Destroyer by pressing just one button. Tekken, the popular fighting game series from Bandai Namco, has a big community of fans since it started back in 1994.

But not everyone agrees on how to play the game properly. Some players don’t like “spammers,” who use the same move over and over again. But this experiment with the bot showed that there might be a reason why spamming is so common.

Tekken 8 Lee & Lars Special Intro
Tekken 8 Lee & Lars Special Intro

Spammers are players who keep pressing the same button or doing the same move repeatedly during a fight. One character in Tekken, Eddy Gordo, is often associated with spammers because his moves are tricky to predict, especially for newer players.

While some fans appreciate the complexity of Eddy’s moves, others make fun of players who spam with him, especially in lower ranks.

A Twitch streamer named Jimmashima wanted to see how well a player spamming Eddy’s moves would do in Tekken 8’s online ranked mode. So, they used a bot that pressed one button over and over again, without considering things like timing or which character they were fighting against.

Surprisingly, the bot did pretty well, reaching the orange ranks and even getting to Destroyer, which is close to the highest rank in the game.

For those who don’t know, Tekken 8’s online matchmaking has different color divisions and orange ranks are considered to be for beginners. But even at this level, there are a lot of players. Reaching the orange rank means you’re better than more than half of all the players in the game.

Eddy’s return to Tekken 8 brought some changes and controversies to the community, especially since he was the first DLC character. But it’s funny to see that even in Tekken 8, people still like to joke about Eddy spammers.

  • The Mystery of Santa Water Ends Here! Dive into Vampire Survivors’ Free Cart-Racing Update

The Mystery of Santa Water Ends Here! Dive into Vampire Survivors’ Free Cart-Racing Update

Last night, at the IGN x ID@Xbox Digital Showcase, Vampire Survivors revealed a new free update called Laboratory (yes, with two ‘r’s). It brings in a bunch of cool stuff like a new character, a secret character, weapons, stages, and even a go-cart racing stage.

But what’s got everyone curious is why it’s called Santa Water. This has been a big mystery, and now Poncle says they’ll finally spill the beans. I’m personally intrigued because, despite the name, there aren’t any vampires in this game. Strange, right?

Poncle calls this Laboratory update their first “AAAA” update, set in a creepy science lab. Now, you can open doors in the game, and those doors are fully animated.

What’s behind them? Who knows, but in the new stage, it seems like everything is out to get you, especially those narrow corridors. So, opening doors might lead you into rooms filled with lizard soldiers and spikes. Scary stuff!

    Read More:

The new character, Santa Ladonna, comes with some neat abilities like a cooldown bonus and a special attack when low on health. And that’s not all – Poncle teased that there’s “absolutely nothing else” to Ladonna’s description, with some mysterious eye emojis.

  • Is This Hell or High Water? Helldivers 2 Update Makes Friendly Fire a Nightmare

Is This Hell or High Water? Helldivers 2 Update Makes Friendly Fire a Nightmare

Helldivers 2 players are facing some unexpected challenges with ricocheting shots, but there’s a bit of a mystery behind it.

Recently, a big update for Helldivers 2 changed a bunch of weapons, including how ricocheting shots work. Now, shots bouncing off tough enemies can hit the player who fired them. The patch notes even warn players to be careful with their trigger fingers.

A video clip started circulating showing a player supposedly getting hit by their rocket bouncing off an enemy’s shield. But another player pointed out that the explosion in the clip came from behind the player, not the ricocheted rocket. They even tried to recreate the ricochet with no luck – the shield didn’t bounce the rocket back.

No, automaton shields do NOT “reflect missiles”.
    byu/Shard1697 inHelldivers

Despite the confusion, it’s clear the developers did change how ricocheting works. Some players claim they’ve been hit by rebounding rockets, while others disagree.

One thing we do know is that using a certain weapon with a shield can be dangerous. Firing the Punisher plasma through the shield causes an explosion that can seriously hurt the player. It’s like a scene from Dune – do it twice and you’re done for.

The ricocheting rockets might just be a bug, affecting some players but not others. We might have to wait for the developers to explain before we understand what’s going on.

  • Escape From Who? New Ultra-Realistic Shooter Heats Up As Tarkov Stumbles

Escape From Who? New Ultra-Realistic Shooter Heats Up As Tarkov Stumbles

Escape From Tarkov is facing some tough times lately, with players not happy about the new EFT Unheard Edition from its creator, Battlestate Games. But while that game deals with criticism, another one is stepping up with its launch date.

This new game, Gray Zone Warfare, is a realistic FPS game with a big focus on tactics. It’s set in a fictional place called the Democratic Republic of Lamang, which has been evacuated and quarantined.

The map is huge and detailed, inspired by the Pacific region. You play as part of a military group sent to take control of the area.

In Gray Zone Warfare, you’ll face both other players and computer-controlled enemies. Strategy is key here – you have to move carefully and work with your team.

The game’s gunplay is realistic, so making noise can alert enemies, and getting hit in different body parts affects you differently. Plus, you have to treat wounds differently depending on where you got hit.

After a long testing period, Gray Zone Warfare is finally launching on Steam early access. If you’re looking for something different from Escape From Tarkov or other shooters like Call of Duty Warzone, you might want to check it out. The release date is Tuesday, April 30th.

Twice the Mystery, Twice the Fun: Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Splits in Two, Inspired by Thrones

The makers of Life is Strange have a new game coming out called Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, and it’s going to be released in two parts. This is because the director wanted to bring back the feeling of waiting for the next part, like in Game of Thrones.

The game will be similar to their other games, with a story that unfolds in episodes. Michel Koch, the creative director, says they made this choice so players can have a break between the two parts to think about what happened and talk about it with others.

He mentions how in the past, people used to chat about TV shows like Game of Thrones after each episode, and he wants to bring back that excitement.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage follows the story of four friends from childhood who reunite after 27 years to deal with a secret from their past. It’s set in 1995 and promises to be a treat for fans of Life is Strange.

The game is expected to come out in late 2024 and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. So, get ready for a new adventure with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage!

Control 2 On Hold, But Codename Condor Soars into Full Production!

Alan Wake 2 just came out a little while ago, but Remedy Entertainment, the folks behind it, are already almost done with their next game. But if you were hoping for Control 2, well, it looks like you’ll have to wait longer, maybe over a year.

    Control 2
    Control 2

Remedy recently talked about their plans in a financial report. They said a game called Codename Condor, which is connected to Control, is almost ready. They’re doing big tests to make sure it’s fun to play. They call it a multiplayer spin-off of Control, but we don’t know much else about it.

As for Control 2, it’s still in the early stages, just figuring out if it’ll work. And they’re also working on remakes of the first two Max Payne games. Those are moving along too, with one starting full production soon. But they didn’t say when any of these games will come out.

The report also talks about how Remedy is doing financially. They bought all the rights to the Control series recently.

They also said Alan Wake 2 sold a lot of copies and they’re still making extra stuff for it. Overall, they made more money this year compared to last year, but spending on game development went up, mainly because of the Max Payne remakes.

  • Elder Scrolls 6 & Fallout 5: Relief! Todd Howard Promises Bethesda is Speeding Up Game Releases

Elder Scrolls 6 & Fallout 5: Relief! Todd Howard Promises Bethesda is Speeding Up Game Releases

Todd Howard from Bethesda says they’re trying to get their games to us faster.

Waiting for new Bethesda games, like The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5, feels like forever. Even though I’m still young, waiting for these games makes me think about how time passes by. Bethesda games take a long time to make.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Sidesteps PS5

We know The Elder Scrolls 6 is being worked on, and it might come out in 2026. But what about Fallout 5? We haven’t seen much about it, and it feels like it’s going to take forever. A Bethesda game designer, Emil Pagliarulo, recently said we won’t be playing it anytime soon.

But there’s a glimmer of hope. Todd Howard, another big name at Bethesda, talked about it. He said they’re trying to speed things up.

He spends his weekends playing Bethesda games like Starfield, Fallout 76, and Fallout 4. He knows they take a long time to make, and they’re working on making them faster without sacrificing quality.

It’s good to hear Bethesda admitting that their games take too long to come out. The last main Elder Scrolls game came out 13 years ago. If the next one comes out as soon as possible, it’ll be 15 years between releases. That’s just too long to wait! It’s nice to know they’re trying to fix it.

  • Fallout of Love: Bethesda’s Next-Gen Fiasco Makes You Want to Crawl Back in the Vault

Fallout of Love: Bethesda’s Next-Gen Fiasco Makes You Want to Crawl Back in the Vault

This past week, Battlestate Games, the folks behind Escape from Tarkov, upset a lot of players by offering a super pricey $250 package for a game that’s not even finished. It caused quite a stir and made people question their choices.

But guess what? Another gaming company, Bethesda Game Studios, joined the club by doing something pretty unnecessary.

They decided to update Fallout 4, a game that’s been around for nine years and still has a huge fan base making cool mods.

    Fallout 77 Update Version 1.7.9.7
    Fallout 77 Update Version 1.7.9.7

But get this: the update they rolled out didn’t change much. It broke a bunch of mods, which upset a lot of players. And the new stuff they added? Well, let’s just say it didn’t impress anyone.

They fixed some bugs, which is good, but then they added “ultrawide support” which messed up the game’s interface.

Plus, they didn’t do anything about a problem that’s been crashing the game on certain fancy graphics cards for six whole years. And to top it off, there were no cool graphics upgrades for PC players, not even a little bit of ray tracing.

They threw in some extra stuff from their Creation Club, but that just made people mad because they had to give up a ton of free mods for it.

Many modders are now working to fix their mods, but this mess could’ve been avoided if Bethesda had talked to them before releasing the update. And why force everyone to get the update? They could’ve tested it out first with a beta version.

Some people say this update is mainly for consoles, to make Fallout 4 run better on the newer ones.

But why should PC players suffer for that? It seems like a sloppy move to make things worse for us just to help out console players. And to make matters worse, even console players aren’t happy with the update.

All in all, it’s been a rough week for gaming companies making questionable decisions.

Victory Turns Volatile: Helldivers 2 Must Destroy Their Anti-Bug Masterpiece

Surprise! In a big twist, players of Helldivers 2 are now being asked to destroy something they helped create not long ago. About seven weeks back, players were given a mission to switch on the Terminid Control System.

Helldivers 2 Player Unlocks Game-Changing Stratagem Trick
Helldivers 2 Player Unlocks Game-Changing Stratagem Trick

The plan was to lock up the pesky bugs forever. It worked out fine, kinda. But now, as many players guessed, things have taken a turn.

A new mission in Helldivers 2, starting on April 29th, wants players to wreck the Terminid Control System. The game says bugs are causing trouble on some planets despite efforts to get rid of them.

Players must go to Erata Prime, Fenrir 3, and Turing to smash the Control System on all three planets. They’ll earn 50 Medals for each. Plus, there are new missions on these planets, a bonus from the game developers. It softens the blow of undoing their earlier work.

Just before this new mission, players completed another task. They got a fancy weapon called the Airburst Rocket Launcher.

But it came with a sad twist. An entire planet got messed up to unlock this weapon. To make up for it, the government sent “potato baskets” to the families of those affected.
