Overwatch 2 has issued a fresh hotfix update that includes nerfs for Zenyatta and changes to 11 additional characters. Blizzard just launched Season 9, which includes significant improvements for Overwatch 2 gamers. Zenyatta, who has emerged as a popular selection in Overwatch 2 battles, was one of the Season 9 update‘s biggest winners.
Zenyatta now has bigger Orbs of Destruction because of Overwatch 2’s disputed projectile hitbox modification. When combined with the Orb of Discord and the new DPS passive that decreases healing by up to 20%, Zen has become a nightmare for even Overwatch 2’s tankiest heroes.
In addition to these adjustments, Overwatch 2’s ninth season raised Zenyatta’s health pool to 275, considerably improving the omnic monk’s durability. Zenyatta is potentially one of the greatest heroes in Overwatch 2, but Blizzard is taking steps to limit the hero’s supremacy in the game’s meta.
A new Overwatch 2 hotfix update has been released, containing nerfs for Zenyatta and improvements for D.Va, Roadhog, Zarya, Hanzo, Junkrat, Soldier: 76, Tracer, Widowmaker, Illari, Lucio, and Mercy.
The monk’s basic health will now be 75, down from 100. The Snap Kick, a tool in Zenyatta’s skill kit for inflicting damage, has had its knockback impact reduced by 25%.
In an interview with Twitch broadcaster mL7, Overwatch 2 Lead Hero Designer Alec Dawson stated that the changes are intended to reduce Zenyatta’s survivability, which he describes as “too survivable.”
In this approach, the developers hope to make Zenyatta feel like a “glass cannon,” making him less annoying.
Other changes in the latest Overwatch 2 update include Widowmaker’s Kiss, which reduces the projectile’s size to 0.05 meters. The minimum and maximum ranges of scoped shot damage falloff have been modified, moving from 40-60 to 50-70 meters.
Illari, one of Overwatch 2’s most contentious balance decisions, has gotten a new set of buffs. This time, her Healing Pylon’s cooldown has been lowered from 8 to 6 seconds and 15 to 12 seconds when destroyed by foes.
The damage of Captive Sun’s Sunstruck explosion has been doubled from 100 to 160, and falloff damage has been added, reducing damage by up to 25%.
Season 9 delivered significant adjustments that transformed the landscape of Overwatch 2 in several ways. As a result, it’s reasonable that players may need some time to adjust to the current situation of Overwatch 2.
Time will tell if this upgrade will assist in lessening Zenyatta’s supremacy, or if the hero will continue to be one of Overwatch 2’s greatest.
