Activision delayed the reveal of the Season 2 roadmap for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and its free-to-play companion game, Warzone 2.0, by two weeks. Each game will have new environments, fan-favorite game types will make a comeback, and a new watercraft will be added to the mix.
Additionally, ranked play will be added to Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, which will provide plenty of awards and bragging rights. On February 15 at 9 am PT, the second season of both games is scheduled to go live. Activision detailed the modifications and unveiled the new Japanese-themed Ashika Island map for Warzone in a blog post. This is the official synopsis.

A village built over several generations, Ashika Island was created by High Moon Studios and is currently under attack by the Shadow Company. After parachuting onto the island, Operators can explore the island’s several environments, which include a walled castle, a port, an organic farm, a huge beach club, and the remnants of an ancient ship.
There is a chance that they will find extensive tunnel systems beneath the city that can be utilized for covert operations. In Activision’s opinion, the island is most suited for Resurgence Mode, a variation of the standard battle royale strategy based on respawns and smaller battlefields.
Further enhancements consist of:
- With Modern Warfare 2, you get four maps total: two main maps and two battle maps. The Season 2 mainstay maps are the 6-player Domed Arena and the 6-player Museum.
- There are “half a dozen modes,” with the series’ mainstay Hardcore Mode among them.
- Episode 2 of Raid, carries on the story of Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 were both huge hits when they were released last year, but they also inspired extensive wishlists from gamers. As a result, the much-anticipated Season 2 update was pushed back in order to take player input into account.
