Preloading entails downloading the game’s data files before Lightfall’s release so that you won’t have to do so later. This page lists the required space for downloading Destiny 2: Lightfall on various platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Destiny 2: Lightfall File Size For Download
Lightfall will have a substantial download size, although Bungie has stated that gamers should experience faster loading times despite this. In order to preload “an additional install package to be downloaded on top of the existing Destiny 2 ones,” players on PS4 and PS5 will need to clear up about 80 GB of free space.
Players on the PS5 and PS4 can therefore anticipate a download size of 70 GB to 80 GB for Destiny 2 Lightfall. Taken together, these pieces of information suggest that the next DLC will weigh in at roughly 100 GB for PC, 110 GB for Xbox Series X|S, and 90 GB for Xbox One.
The download size will be updated here as Bungie makes the announcement. Also, remember that having both versions in storage is essential for the pre-load to go off without a hitch.
