It feels like just yesterday we got the last premium war bond for Helldivers 2, called Cutting Edge. But I haven’t finished it yet, and now there’s another one coming next week. It’s called Democratic Detonation, and it’s all about explosions.
Helldivers, the time for stealth is over.
On April 11 deliver explosive liberation with your next Premium Warbond, Democratic Detonation. Full briefing: https://t.co/MvvZ387Cld pic.twitter.com/YlffavJ1uN

According to the PlayStation Blog, Democratic Detonation brings four guns, a grenade, a booster, and three types of armor (light, medium, and heavy):
- BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle: A rifle that automatically penetrates armor.
- R-36 Eruptor Rifle: A rifle that shoots shells assisted by jets, which explode on impact.
- CB-9 Exploding Crossbow: A crossbow that shoots explosive bolts.
- GP-31 Grenade Pistol: A secondary pistol that shoots one grenade per reload.
- G-123 Thermite Grenade: A sticky grenade that burns when it hits.
We think the armor sets will all have the same special ability, but we don’t know what it is yet. The Cutting Edge perk makes us think that the Democratic Detonation perk might also resist explosions. I’ve always dreamed of throwing a grenade without worrying about blowing myself up.
As for the weapons, I’m most interested in the Adjudicator. I love reliable automatic rifles in Helldivers. I’ve been using the Sickle a lot since the Cutting Edge warbond came out.
I’m glad the Adjudicator seems like a new gun, not just a variation of something else. It looks like a mix of a real-life M4 and a rifle from Mass Effect.
Democratic Detonation comes out on Thursday, April 11. This is the second post-release war bond announced just a week before its release, and almost a month after the last one. Helldivers 2 seems to be setting a schedule for its premium updates: one war bond per month.
That’s pretty fast, considering all the other cool things happening in the game. Remember, past premium warbonds won’t disappear when Democratic Detonation comes out. So don’t feel rushed to finish them before next week.
