God Of War Ragnarok: Even though it’s just been a little over a week since God of War Ragnarok came out, many players are likely getting close to the end of the game now that they may play at their own pace.

The story in God of War: Ragnarok is lengthy, and there’s even more side stuff to explore if you want to go back and experience it again after the opening credits. While most of this material is accessible early in the game, there are some locations that cannot be fully revealed until later in the game when more powerful equipment has been obtained.

Similarly, to face the most terrifying foes in God of War: Ragnarok, players may wish to be as advanced and equipped as possible. Completely finishing any video game is a huge accomplishment, and God of War: Ragnarok is no exception.

Endgame material in God of War: Ragnarok is not easy, requiring players to wipe out hordes of Berserker Souls and the immensely durable. Unfortunately, there is currently no New Game Plus option in God of War: Ragnarok, so players who finish the game and want to give it another go armed with all of their looted gear and maxed-out upgrades will have to wait.

God Of War Ragnarok Takes After Its Predecessor’s Lack Of New Game Plus

New Game Plus modes are being included in many recently released games. This is wonderful for any fans who want to replay the game but don’t want to start a new save file and have to grind for all the items they already have. To be fair, there’s a good reason why New Game Plus wasn’t available at the launch of God of War: Ragnarok.

For obvious reasons, God of War did not include a New Game Plus feature upon release. However, a patch including New Game Plus was made available for God of War not long after its initial release. There has been no official word on whether or not New Game Plus will be added to God of War: Ragnarok, let alone when. Nonetheless, if the predecessor game got one, it seems inevitable that the sequel will get one as well.

God Of War Ragnarok Lets Players Leisurely Backtrack In The Meantime

The most significant drawback is that at the moment, players can’t begin the realm-hopping journey of God of War Ragnarok with their equipment and talents intact. This is a great feature to have in games that a lot of people enjoy, especially if the difficulty level adjusts as the player becomes more powerful.

In the same vein, if challenges do not scale with the player, or do not scale as steeply, then the player can enjoy the game to the fullest by stomping on each monster they come across or navigating any obstacle they encounter.

God of War Ragnarok’s side quests and activities, such as the Celestial Altars, Hel-Tears, and other narrative-specific activities, may not be accessible until the point in the game where they are first introduced, as is customary for New Game Plus modes where certain equipment or items may be withheld.

On top of that, it seems like the Last Remnants of Asgard won’t be unlocked until the player has completed the story twice. If God of War Ragnarok receives a New Game Plus patch, it will be intriguing to see what content can be accessed immediately and what content is hidden until later in the story.
