The recent update for Fallout 4 on PlayStation Plus should now be available to everyone who plays the game through PlayStation Plus, no matter what level of subscription they have.
This is a change from last week when the update wasn’t accessible to those who got the game through the PS Plus Collection.
We’ve seen some confusion regarding the free Fallout 4 next-gen update for PlayStation Plus Extra members. The Fallout 4 next-gen update will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra members through the PlayStation Game Catalog. Your patience is appreciated while the teams work on…

There was confusion because neither Bethesda nor Sony explained this clearly. Some people thought it was intentional and that those who got Fallout 4 for free through PS Plus wouldn’t get the update.
But Bethesda has confirmed that this isn’t true and that they fixed the issue that was causing the problem.
Surprisingly, this was always the plan. Before, people thought it might never get fixed because other games released through PS Plus didn’t get updates for PS5. Instead, players had to buy the game separately, even though they already had it through PS Plus.
Adding to the confusion, Fallout 4 was part of the PS Plus Collection, which doesn’t exist anymore. This collection of 20 games was for people with PS Plus and a PS5. It could be added to your library at any time, unlike the free monthly games.
It was removed from PS Plus last year, but people who claimed the games before that could keep them as long as they kept paying. Now, those players can also get the PS5 version of Fallout 4.
But for people who got tired of waiting and bought the game, this doesn’t help much. Some are asking for refunds, but they probably won’t get them, especially if they already started playing. At least now they own Fallout 4 and can keep playing it even if they stop paying for PS Plus.
