According to an update on the Elden Ring SteamDB page, the impending Shadow of the Erdtree DLC appears to be in the Quality Assessment stage.
A long line of Changelist updates mentions “qa-release”, “qa-debug”, “dev-debug”, and other descriptive titles. Some altered depots even mention “pd-1,” which could indicate a playable demo.
These adjustments were only made hours ago, according to the update history. This lends credence to ongoing suspicions that a major disclosure or release is imminent.
Earlier this month, a new Elden Ring DLC bundle was found in its files. This also referred to Shadow of the Erdtree, although the devs have not verified anything.
The Shadow of the Erdtree was initially announced in February 2023. Rumors say that something significant is planned for Elden Ring’s launch anniversary.
Elden Ring was initially released on February 25th, 2022. So, another anniversary party is planned for this year.
The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC would be an ideal gift for loyal fans. However, it may not be released on the game’s anniversary. It could just be a release date announcement.
After all, people pointed out that the makers did not reveal the DLC at The Game Awards 2023.
It makes more sense to generate anticipation for big DLC rather than depending on a shadow drop. So, the Elden Ring DLC could be released later this year.
However, in December 2023, rumors circulated online about a collaboration between Elden Ring and Thrustmaster.
These leaks stated that Elden Ring-themed Thrustmaster controllers would “sync with the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion” to commemorate the occasion. The information describing these controllers was quickly taken down.
Elden Ring gained much acclaim for its novel features and commemoration of earlier games.
