Dragon Ball Z’s forthcoming Budokai Tenkiachi game, Sparking: Zero, was formally revealed at The Game Awards 2023, with Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Frieza, and others confirmed as playable characters.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Release Date
During The Game Awards, Bandai Namco revealed the title of the new Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi game, Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero.
The trailer shows Goku and Vegeta doing what they do best: fighting each other. The struggle progresses to the pair becoming Super Saiyan Blue, but we also catch glimpses of Freiza and Broly (the new version of him). The game is the next instalment in the long-dormant Budokai Tenkaichi series, and it was unveiled in March without a title.
Dragon Ball is on fire! Zero does not yet have a release date, but it will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The trailer began in the wastelands, with Goku and Vegeta doing their regular thing, fighting with a slew of beam blasts and high-speed punches. The two then morph into their Super Saiyan Blue forms and battle one other in more fast-paced action.

Following Goku and Vegeta’s fight, we find that Super’s version of Broly is a playable character, confirming that Sparking: Zero will be based on the most recent era of Dragon Ball. We also get glances at a few additional characters, like Tien, Frieza, Jirden, and Trunks, indicating a focus on a broad playable roster, as seen in prior games.

Many Dragon Ball fans were probably expected to see Dragon Ball Sparking: Zero at Dragon Ball Game Battle Hour 2024 in January rather than The Game Awards, but it was a pleasant surprise given how long we hadn’t heard anything about it.
