Creed 3 Release Date: MGM has moved the release date of Creed III from this November to March 3, 2023, meaning that fans will have to wait a little longer to see Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) return to the ring. Jordan will be making his directorial debut with the sequel, following in the footsteps of Ryan Coogler and Steven Caple Jr. Note that this is the first Creed film that does not include Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone).
My directorial debut?! Still sounds crazy to say but there’s no film that has been more personal to me and no film I’ve felt more ready to steer. Excited to share the first trailer for Creed 3. To my cast & crew thanks for working so hard to continue the legacy of the franchise. pic.twitter.com/PSbOr2usdH

Creed 3 Release Date
The release of Creed III on March 3, 2023, puts it in direct rivalry with Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Pitching a sports movie like Creed III against a more fantasy franchise like Dungeons & Dragons is a savvy move of counter-programming, even though there is some overlap in viewers. Although the reasoning for the change remains a mystery, viewers should have no problem with it if it leads to a successful third installment in the series.
Details about the narrative of Creed III, written by Keenan Coogler (Fruitvale Station) and Zach Baylin (King Richard), are as of yet unknown. Tessa Thompson reprises her role as Creed’s fiancee Bianca, while Phylicia Rashad returns as Creed’s stepmother Mary Anne. Michael B. Jordan also returns as Apollo Creed.
Creed’s opponent in the ring will be Jonathan Majors, who will next be seen as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors put on a lot of bulk for the part, as seen by images from the set, and might quickly become Creed’s toughest opponent.
When the first Creed movie came out in 2015, it was about the protagonist, Adonis Creed, learning about the boxing heritage of his late father, Apollo (Carl Weathers), who was slain by Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). He sought out none other than Rocky (Stallone) for instruction, and despite the latter’s initial resistance, they developed a close, almost parental relationship over time.
The success and renown Creed had at the conclusion of the previous film were expanded upon in Creed II. He faced a battle against Viktor, Drago’s son (Florian Munteanu). The previous announcement was that Robert Lawton will be writing the script for a Drago prequel film being produced by MGM. Not much is known at this time, although it is assumed to be about Ivan and Viktor’s lives.
With Creed III out of the way, MGM still has five movies scheduled for release this year, two of which (Ron Howard’s Thirteen Lives and Sylvester Stallone’s long-delayed superhero movie Samaritan) will have their world premieres on Amazon Prime Video at the same time.
Three Thousand Years of Longing, starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba, is George Miller’s next feature and will be released as well. Dark Harvest and Bones & All are two more upcoming titles from the company.
