EA Sports is gearing up to release College Football 25 very soon. They’ve been dropping hints every Friday that the game is almost here. Recently, they put up what seems to be a fancy version of the game on the PlayStation Store, for which fans can join a waitlist.
EA also put up a countdown timer on their website, saying there will be more news about College Football 25 in a week.
This timer ends on May 16 at 11 a.m. ET. Since EA already said the game will come out this summer, this countdown will likely lead to a big reveal trailer before the game comes out in July.
The deluxe edition cover gives us a sneak peek at what to expect. It features stars like Donovan Edwards from Michigan, Quinn Ewers from Texas, and Travis Hunter from Colorado.
This is the first time we have seen evidence of the over 10,000 deals EA has made with college football players nationwide for their names, images, and likenesses.

College Football 25 Trailer
The first College Football 25 trailer gave us a sneak peek at what’s coming in the series’ return. It showed realistic mascots, jerseys, locker rooms, and stadiums. Plus, it revealed the first four teams: Michigan, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama.
College Football 25 Players
EA has been very cautious about getting real players for College Football 25, especially after the lawsuit we talked about earlier.
They’re offering players who agree to be in the game $600 and a free copy of the game as thanks for using their likeness. And it seems to work – more than 10,000 college athletes have agreed to participate.
But not everyone’s on board. For example, Texas quarterback Arch Manning, the nephew of NFL stars Peyton and Eli Manning, reportedly said no to being in College Football 25.
When players decline, they’ll be replaced with generic characters, and there’s no way to change their names or looks. Still, having 10,000 real players is a big deal. EA aims to have entire teams for every school in the game, and they’ve got 87% of real athletes signed up.
