Baldur’s Gate 3, which was teased during tonight’s The Game Awards, is currently playable on Xbox Series X/S.

Winners of the Game of the Year, Larian Studios, revealed the information on X/Twitter following the ceremony, although not on stage. You can get it from the Microsoft Store.

Xbox has been teasing us with the game’s December release date for a time now, but this wasn’t always the case. Originally exclusive to PC and PS5, Baldur’s Gate 3 was delayed for Xbox due to problems with the Xbox Series S, particularly with split-screen co-op.

Xbox had previously promised parity between the Xbox Series S and X for all titles, however, to allow Baldur’s Gate 3 to release this year, an exception was eventually made.

Split-screen cooperative play will therefore only be accessible on Series X consoles rather than Series S ones. However, there will be cross-save functionality between Steam and Xbox, online co-op, and access to all patches, upgrades, and features.

Certainly, that includes the most recent epilogue update that adds 3,589 additional dialogue lines to allow you to bid farewell to all of your cherished party members when the game concludes.
