Today, Meta announced the next game in the famous Batman: Arkham series: Batman: Arkham Shadow. But here’s the twist – it’s a VR game, and it’s only for the Meta Quest 3.
The game is being developed by Camouflaj, the team behind Iron Man VR, along with Oculus Studios.

It’s set to come out later this year. Meta didn’t give us much information about the game itself, just a short trailer showing Batman flying over the dark, rainy streets of Gotham.
From the trailer, it looks like a big part of the game will involve gliding through Gotham, which was a cool feature in Batman: Arkham City. Meta hasn’t told us yet who will be the voice of Batman. Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman for many years, passed away in 2022.
This isn’t the first time the Batman: Arkham series has been turned into a VR game. In 2016, Rocksteady Studios released Batman: Arkham VR for the PSVR, and later for other VR headsets. It didn’t get great reviews, with some people saying it didn’t capture the things they loved about the series.
Batman: Arkham Shadow will be out exclusively for the Meta Quest 3, and Meta says we’ll learn more about it during the Summer Game Fest showcase on June 7th.
