Mortal Kombat 1 Peacemaker Release Date

John Cena and James Gunn’s version of the DC superhero Peacemaker will be available in Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28, and the character’s debut gameplay footage features the foul-mouthed remarks and eccentric attributes that made his namesake TV series so entertaining. Oh, and Eagly is entering the fight, along with new Kameo Fighter Janet Cage.

The first Peacemaker teaser has the type of crass trash talk that Mortal Kombat 1 urgently needed for its pre-fight chat. For example, Peacemaker refers to Mileena as the “first bangable monster chick” he’s encountered.

Peacemaker also telegraphs his intentions, declaring aloud whatever helmet-based superpower he intends to use in battle. He even discharges shotgun rounds that leave a peace sign-shaped exit wound in his opponents. It’s wonderfully idiotic.

Peacemaker’s appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 coincides with the start of the game’s fourth season, Invasions mode. NetherRealm Studios will also introduce crossplay to Mortal Kombat 1, allowing for cross-platform battles on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X (but not Nintendo Switch).

Next up comes new Kameo Fighter Janet Cage, who appeared in Mortal Kombat 1’s immensely entertaining multiverse conclusion. NetherRealm claims Janet will arrive in MK1 sometime in March.

On February 28, Peacemaker will be available for early access as part of the game’s Kombat Pack. A wider, à la carte distribution is scheduled for March 6. Homelander, Ermac, and Takeda are the three more characters announced for MK1’s first Kombat Pack.

More Kameo Fighters are on their way, with Ferra and Mavado yet to arrive. The MK1 Kombat Pack costs $39.99 and is included with the game’s Premium Edition, which costs $109.99.
