Escape From Tarkov is a hardcore and realistic online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and a story-driven walkthrough. The game is set in the fictional Norvinsk region in north-western Russia, around a “Special economic zone” that served as a gateway between Russia and Europe.
However, this attracted corporations with dubious intent, and the city of Tarkov became the center of a major political scandal involving corrupt corporations in the Norvinsk region. Six months later, the situation erupted into an armed conflict involving UN peacekeepers, Internal Troops of Russia, two private military companies, and the region’s local population.
The region’s borders were sealed off, and those trapped in this regional warfare flare-up were isolated from the outside world. In Escape From Tarkov, players can choose to play as one of two factions: USEC or BEAR.
USEC is a private military company hired by the corrupt Terra Group corporation, while BEAR is a Russian-backed paramilitary force that opposes Terra Group’s activities in the region. Players can also play as Scavs, local bandits, and civilians trying to survive the chaos.
Players can take on various quests from different traders, who offer them rewards such as money, items, weapons, and reputation. Some inquiries are also required to unlock new items for purchase or to progress the main story.
One of the quests players can take on is Lend Lease Part 1, given by Skier, a shady arms dealer operating in the region. Skier asks the player to salvage some controllers and gyroscopes from foreign drones down in the area and from abandoned Russian military vehicles.
These items are valuable to Skier’s clients interested in expanding their technological capabilities. Skier warns the player that they might encounter resistance from USEC forces, who were also ordered to retrieve these items before losing contact with their command.

Lend Lease Part 1 is a pick-up quest that requires the player to find and collect five items: three motor controllers and two single-axis fiber optic gyroscopes. The items are scattered across two locations: Shoreline and Woods.
The shoreline is a large map that features a health resort, a village, a power station, a gas station, and a lighthouse. Woods is a medium-sized map with a sawmill, a lumber camp, a checkpoint, and a plane crash site.

To complete Lend Lease Part 1, the player needs to do the following:
- Obtain the first motor controller on Woods. It is located inside a black SUV near the sawmill.
- Obtain the second motor controller on Shoreline. It is located inside another black SUV near the power station.
- Obtain the third motor controller on Shoreline. It is located inside room 306 of the east wing of the health resort. The player needs to have the Health Resort East Wing Room 306 Key to access this room.
- Obtain the first single-axis fiber optic gyroscope on Woods. It is located inside an APC near ZB-016 bunker.
- Obtain the second single-axis fiber optic gyroscope on Shoreline. It is located inside room 216 of the west wing of the health resort. The player needs to have the Health Resort West Wing Room 216 Key to access this room.
After finding and collecting all five items, the player needs to hand them over to Skier to complete the quest and receive their rewards. The rewards for completing Lend Lease Part 1 are:
- 17,500 EXP
- Skier Rep +0.05
- 3,000 Dollars (3,150 Dollars with Intelligence Center Level 1 or 3,450 Dollars with Intelligence Center Level 2)
- 1x Armasight N-15 Night Vision Goggles
- Unlocks purchase of ORSIS T-5000M 7.62×51 bolt-action sniper rifle at Skier LL3
Lend Lease Part 1 is also required for unlocking Lend Lease Part 2, another quest Skier gives that involves finding more items from foreign drones and military vehicles.
