Street Fighter 6 Themes
When actually played inside the setting of the game, several of the published themes do fit reasonably nicely against the punching and kicking action, despite the fact that I will freely confess that the musical style of SF6 causes me to raise my eyebrows.
A previously honorable (though arrogant) hero who has fallen from favor, Ken Masters has been forced to go underground as a result of a wicked conspiracy that has framed him for some crime for which the details have not yet been disclosed.
Spirit of the Flame is one of the most dramatic themes to date. It combines the sound of early 1990s gaming with melancholy despair, and it is meant to symbolize the circumstances in which the warrior was forced to leave his wife Eliza, and their kid, Mel.
To tell you the truth, out of all of the Street Fighter 6 themes that have been made available up to this point, this one may be my favorite. It’s the only tune, except Juri, that I’ve listened to multiple times over and over again.
I believe that it communicates the backdrop of the injustice that was delivered to Ken, as well as the fire spirit that has led him to be on the streets, on the run, and out for vengeance, in an authentic and convincing manner.
Blanka – Zilra Zilra
Jungle Jimmy has reemerged, this time donning a silly pair of dungarees but remaining (quite literally) as electric as he has always been. Blanka’s theme, “Zilra Zilra,” combines blaring horns and a carnival feel with tribalistic sounds and enthusiastic chanting. This is a reflection of both his Brazilian origin and his childhood in the jungle.
It is possible that this is the first Street Fighter 6 track that, without a shadow of a doubt, conveys the personality of its creator only via the opening lines. Although there is no disputing the presence of bongo drums and frantic hooting, the piece nonetheless retains the same contemporary, cheerful, and electronic mood that can be seen throughout the whole of Street Fighter 6.
Fighting this guy once again is not something I’m looking forward to… That guy is a pain, dude. Beginning in early 2023, Street Fighter 6 will be available on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox.
