Gameplay
Each player in 7 Days to Die begins the game in either a procedurally created environment or the predetermined world of Navezgane, Arizona, where they must fight against the elements and waves of zombies for as long as possible. Being a survival game, the player‘s character will need to find a way to stay healthy and hydrated, as well as fend off any number of potential threats.
The game’s voxel-based gameplay (like Minecraft but with flat landscapes) makes it easy to construct and destroy various items in a simulated physics world (for example, building a structure with no support such as pillars and walls can lead to its collapse). Tools in the game environment wear out over time, forcing the player to constantly find or craft new ones. The player may make these things by gathering and creating resources from nature and the ruins of human civilization.
There is a variety of fauna in the game that may be hunted for food or that will hunt the player, but the major danger is zombies, who are impacted by the day/night cycle. During the day, zombies are sluggish moving and easy prey, and they can only detect the player at close ranges. Variants that are increasingly difficult to defeat arise as the game progresses.
To prevent needless combat, stealth and diversion may be utilized. They are attracted to human (i.e. player) populated places and will assault anything in their way (even player-built fortifications) until they are either killed or the obstacle is eliminated. If zombies become aware of the player, they will continue their relentless chase until the player is killed or escapes the area.
The game’s name alludes to the significant Blood Moon event that comes once every seven days in-game time, causing swarms of zombies and wild infected animals to swarm the player’s present location. When a player isn’t well-prepared and hasn’t built up enough defenses, they’re soon defeated.
Various types of ecosystems, or biomes, may be found over the surface of Navezgane. There are deserts, woods, fields of snow, and a burnt wasteland among them. Players are encouraged to go to different areas of the map since each biome has its own set of useful materials.
