XDefiant is a fast-paced free-to-play arena shooter from Ubisoft that was supposed to be launched this year, but there have been a few delays.
The game’s open beta was held in June, and it was regarded as a promising addition to players’ rosters. XDefiant is a viable alternative for individuals looking to play new First Person Shooters and distinguishes it from its contemporaries with its unique gameplay.
Xdefiant Release Date PS5
XDefiant does not yet have a definite release date. The game’s release date is unknown for a good reason, according to executive producer Mark Rubin. Before the game can be released, it must be approved by first-party companies, which is taking longer than expected.
Also, this is just an update on the process. Nothing is changed on our anticipated release time frame. Although we are still on track we won’t really know until we get reports back from 1st parties on our submission.

XDefiant has been postponed indefinitely owing to “inconsistencies in the game experience,” according to the most recent statement on the official XDefiant Twitter/X page. As a result, XDefiant may be launched later this year in November or December, although it is most likely to be delivered in Q1 2024.

What is XDefiant?
Ubisoft is introducing its own identity to the realm of first-person shooters. Within the Tom Clancy universe, players can choose to play as one of five factions.
The Libertad from the Far Cry series, Echelon from Splinter Cell, Cleaners from The Division, Phantoms from Ghost Recon, and Dedsec from Watch Dogs are among these factions. Each side has unique skills that can be used to help players combat other teams.

XDefiant Open Beta
The XDefiant open beta ran from June 21 to June 23 for PC via Ubisoft Connect, Xbox Series consoles, and PlayStation 5. The open beta for XDefiant was unveiled during the Ubisoft Forward webcast.
Shortly before the open beta ended, the official XDefiant Twitter account stated that, while it appreciated “wishes to extend Open Sessions,” it would “not be extending it” to allow the crew to relax correctly and adequately process the open beta session.
We appreciate the wishes to extend Open Sessions, but we will not be extending it to allow our team to rest and process the Open Session properly.
Love all the passion for XDefiant and see you in matches until 11 PM PT! 💛

Ubisoft announced in July 2021 that the first XDefiant PC beta will begin the following August. Multiple beta tests have since taken place, with the most recent closed beta taking place in April 2023.
A Public Test Session was held between September 28 and September 29, with minimal access to the game, and the game was postponed again following this PTS. There are currently no betas scheduled for 2023, but we’ll keep you updated if that changes.
