WWE 2K24 Release Date PS5: Don’t Miss Out On Wrestling’s Grand Arrival!

With the 2024 Royal Rumble starting next week, it’s time for the 2K Games to give fans their first glimpse at WWE 2K24. The official logo was revealed a few days ago on Twitter, and since then, the creators have been releasing numerous hints for new things coming to WWE 2K24, including various stars and professional sportsmen speculating on who could be the cover star.

While we don’t have that information yet, the most recent tease may be the most intriguing thus far. It just shows the text “1.22.24” and an ominous-looking casket.

The existence of WWE 2K24 has been confirmed, however, 2K Games has not publicized it. They have not specified who will be on the roster, what the focus will be, or when it will be released. We don’t know anything because nothing has been revealed.

While we don’t know what the game will contain, we do have a general timeline for its release. According to an investor document, WWE 2K24 is set to release in “fiscal 2024.” That’s this year, as we probably could have predicted.

Speaking of speculating, WWE 2K24 is expected to be released in March 2024. That’s an easy estimate because both WWE 2K22 and WWE 2K23 were released in March. However, there is always the possibility that 2K plans to shift it back to October when the games (2K20 and prior) were originally planned.

I believe this is unlikely since publishing a game with the current year in the title when there are only a few months left makes the game appear outdated rapidly. When 2025 arrives, many people will look at 2K24 titles and ponder if they should wait for the current year’s release.

WWE 2K24 is also expected to be launched for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. PC appears to be a possibility, although it is usually not a top priority. Meanwhile, I’d expect PS4 and Xbox One versions, as 2K wants their sports games to reach the broadest potential audience.

Finally, a Switch version is not promised, but it is an option. It is a question of whether Visual Concepts prepared the engine to work on such constrained hardware.

WWE 2K24 Pre-Royal Rumble Teaser

The important thing to note is that, like previous teases, this is building up to a January 22 reveal date. That means fans will likely get their first peek of WWE 2K24 on the Monday before the Rumble. They’ll likely air whatever footage they have on that night’s Monday Night Raw, but this has not been verified.

WWE 2K23 unveiled its “Even Stronger” trailer on the Monday before the Rumble last year, and the company appears to be doing the same today. That teaser provided viewers their first look at John Cena’s Showcase mode, so many fans believe it could be a sign regarding who this year’s Showcase mode will focus on.

The obvious choice here is The Undertaker. The Deadman has appeared in numerous story modes throughout the years, but he has never had his moment in the spotlight of 2K Games’ main narrative mode.

Given Taker’s lengthy career, there is undoubtedly plenty of material to work with. The Phenom’s Wrestlemania Streak would take center stage, but there is such a rich history to work with that it’s almost surprising the developers haven’t gone that route yet.

However, this is not a certainty that the next Showcase mode will feature Undertaker. Some of the additional tips offered have nothing to do with Taker. For example, one of them is just Rhea Ripley working out, with no apparent connection to the Deadman. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
