Worst-Rated Video Games of 2022: One more year is down in history. Ebooks, too. Alternatively, you might use TikTok. I have no idea. I’m too old to master all your cutting-edge apps and spreadsheets. The one thing I do know is that we are far past the halfway point of this year. Now we can check Metacritic to learn which 2022 video games were widely panned by critics.
It bears stressing that there is nothing inherently wrong with enjoying a “poor” game. One reason we don’t use numerical scores is that they typically come with a lot of caveats and qualifiers that we don’t want to deal with.

The fact that you enjoy a game on this list against the opinions of many others merely proves that your tastes are unique. It’s all right if you say so. You may avoid drama by just taking time to do the things you enjoy and not being a jerk about it. Now, as we have done previously, we present the lowest-rated games on Metacritic that have received at least seven reviews.
LEGO Battles (PS)
LEGO video games are usually quite good, and oftentimes excellent. This is not the case with LEGO Brawls, though, which is a fighting game similar to Smash Bros.
The fact that it’s basically a port of a not-very-good mobile game from 2019 appears to be the biggest issue. (I used it and didn’t think about it again until just now.) Worse then, the publisher has the nerve to ask me $40 for this barebones port of a middling mobile game that came out three years ago. The PlayStation 5 version of LEGO Brawls is deserving of this high ranking.
"Unique in both style and gameplay, IMMORTALITY earns its spot on this list perhaps because it’s such a departure from the norm or maybe because it succeeds in blending the line of movie and game so well."https://t.co/mnIbnbkLkq

XEL (Switch)
At first glance, I thought some strange XFL game had landed instead of this futuristic 3D open-world action game. The PC port of XEL shares the same glitches, poor gameplay, and irritating technical issues that plague the console version.
Babylon Fall (PS5)
As expected, Babylon’s Fall is one of the five worst games of 2022. That’s probably because of the terrible controls, boring fighting, and overall unfinished nature of the game. Still, it’s surprising that this live-service action RPG barely came in at #3 on the list.
A word of caution: Square Enix said in February that it will be shutting down the servers for this live-service game less than a year after its release, making it dirt cheap (or even free) to pick up now.
Crossfire X (Xbox X/S)
The trash that Remedy Entertainment produces is very solid. Video games with a Metacritic score between 83 and 89, such as Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Control, are some of my favorites. The original pitch for Crossfire X, which involved the development company creating a whole new single-player FPS campaign, was very appealing.
The main game is a dull, aimless mess that largely feels like a poor imitation of Call of Duty and doesn’t pick up any real momentum until far too late. When the game finally started to turn around, I was so bored I didn’t care. After attempting the online PvP mode (which was not developed by Remedy), I gave up on Crossfire X in favor of one of the dozens of other, superior shooters available on Xbox.
“Immortality breaks new ground in the video game space to tell a unique story about artistry, its costs, and, well, a few other wrinkles you simply have to experience for yourself.” https://t.co/mIaHTb4sFT

Postal 4 No Regrets (PC)
Some may take this bad rating as ammunition in their battle against the “WOKE” critics and media who are out to get them.
The point is, though: Postal 4 is an open-world shooter with a variety of tasks and side quests set in a seedy city, but even if you disregard the game’s nasty, punching-down comedy and awful jokes, you’re still left with a poor shooter that is mechanically similar to Postal 2 but worse.

And it’s a bad sign when your game ends up being compared unfavorably to Postal Fuckup 2. At least it isn’t Postal 3, is the best compliment I can give to Postal 4.
