Despite a job listing implying otherwise, it appears like Monolith Productions’ next Wonder Woman video game will not be a live service game after all. Wonder Woman was initially announced at The Game Awards 2021, and there haven’t been many significant changes since then.
Monolith hasn’t released a game since 2017’s Middle-earth: Shadow of War, so many fans are naturally eager to learn more about its Wonder Woman project.
While the Wonder Woman game has remained mostly under wraps since its first introduction, a recent job listing has led many fans to suspect that it will be a live service game.
According to the Wonder Woman job offering, Monolith was looking for someone with experience in live service games to work on the project, which sparked the suspicion. Many fans were concerned when this job listing surfaced because live service games can be extremely controversial.

To allay fears, Warner Bros. clarifying that Wonder Woman is a single-player open world game rather than a live service title. “Wonder Woman is not being designed as a live service,” according to the announcement. This does not imply that Wonder Woman will be free of microtransactions, but it does mean that fans won’t have to worry about it being a live service game and being plagued with everything it entails.
Wonder Woman is not intended to be a live service. Aside from the fact that it will be a single-player open world game rather than a live service, the only other element fans know for certain about the Wonder Woman game is that it will have the Nemesis System.
With Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith innovated the Nemesis System, allowing all foes in the game to remember the player’s actions, responding appropriately, and establishing a relationship between the player and even the lowest-level opponents in the game.
It will be fascinating to see how this technique works in Wonder Woman, so maybe more details on the project will be published sooner rather than later.
Since Wonder Woman was first revealed at The Game Awards in 2021, it’s possible that it’ll be included again this year.

The Game Awards 2023 will undoubtedly contain a slew of significant game debuts and announcements, and because Wonder Woman has been largely absent for the last two years, it appears that this year’s event would be an ideal moment to re-introduce the game to the general public.
Fans should not hold their breath, however, because WB will most likely want to maintain the focus on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for the time being.
