Although this isn’t the first open world in Warframe, it differs significantly from the Sol systems. “Instead of just combat all the time, it’s a bit more exploratory,” says Ford. The player will be encouraged to check out and accomplish side quests in the Paradox to earn new rewards for their loadout.
The more open and unstructured environment or the six-chapter procedural narrative are available to players. The most thrilling part is that gamers will receive a horse modeled by other powerful video game mounts, such as Elden Ring’s Torrent.
A player can immediately enter Warframe or the Duviri Paradox when they launch Warframe for the first time. Players can switch as needed, and the two sides have continuity and cross-progression. Additionally, Duviri contains sporadic glimpses of Warframe’s fast-paced mecha ninja combat.
Ford connects League of Legends’ “all random all mid” (often abbreviated “ARAM”) play mode to the Duviri Paradox. ARAM assigns players a random champion to try out in a low-stakes contest on a map that is just a straight line.
The Duviri Paradox is equally approachable; seasoned players already have their Warframe loadouts available, while new players will only experience a sample platter of Warframes with no financial risk. “The trick is they won’t need any gear — it’s all loaner,” says Ford.
The Drifter can be controlled independently. The Drifter fights on a smaller scale; fights vary from one against 20 to one against five. Warframe is all about hordes of adversaries and strong skills.
“We wanted to try and make a variety of stances and enemies that focused on counterplay, mixing your little quick-fire pistol with your blades and balancing it in a way where the ratio of enemies is smaller,” says Ford.
Players will eventually be able to bring Warframes inside the Firmament for some explosive power as they improve their loadout and discover more secrets of the Paradox.
The Duviri Paradox lays the stage for the next major arc, which ultimately wraps up Warframe’s first significant arc with The New War. Despite the daunting amount of lore, Warframe’s timeline is now more of a loop-de-loop than a straight line.
