Several fresh Until Dawn Remake gameplay pictures have surfaced online, revealing the game’s third-person perspective for the first time.
The screenshots were posted to the /r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by user /u/MattTheMLGPro, but you can view them here.
Admittedly, the photos show nothing, but they do indicate that the game will have fresh content, as the makers promised. The Until Dawn Remake is set to be released later this year for PlayStation 5 and PC, and it will be recreated using Unreal Engine 5.
The official PlayStation blog states, “Rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, Until Dawn has received advancements across the board, all developed with passion and care for the original from the team of horror aficionados, film fans, and seasoned game creators at Ballistic Moon; and it’s coming to PS5 and PC this year!
Until Dawn is recreated using the most modern tools and approaches. New and better animations add to the effectiveness of the original character performances. Characters, scenery, and visual effects have all been updated, resulting in a genuinely enhanced cinematic horror experience.
We employ a bigger cinematic tone color palette and fresh viewpoints to make the tale more complex and emotive.
We were courageous enough to shine a light into the dark, hidden corners of Blackwood Mountain and add a third-person camera, allowing you to go behind the scenes of the original game, discovering updated and new locales with additional interactions and collectibles.
The game now incorporates a third-person camera and contextual character movement animations, allowing the user to fully immerse themselves in the events of that tragic night.
The sound in Until Dawn has also been completely overhauled, with a new composition by famed horror composer Mark Korven.
PlayStation Productions and Sony’s Screen Gems are also working on a film adaptation of Until Dawn, which is said to be in the early stages of development.
