The Fire Emblem Engage: Two new characters are introduced in a pair of gameplay snippets from Fire Emblem Engage that Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have shared. The protagonist of the game, Alear, can enlist these two individuals, who play a variety of roles, into the player’s army in Fire Emblem Engage.
Less than a week remains until the game’s Japanese release, and the official Fire Emblem Twitter account has been providing a lot of information about its gameplay and characters to give fans a sneak peek into who they are and what they do.
These contain official character profiles for Fire Emblem Engage characters, which include information on each character’s name, kingdom, interesting facts about them, voice actor, and personality. Along with a help thread, accompanying tweets typically incorporate a segment of their class’ gameplay.
Two of these playable characters, Zelkov and Merrin, are the subject of the most recent previews posted on the official account (translated by Twitter user @SatsumaFS). Zelkov is listed as being an Elusian royal soldier and Ivy’s retainer in his profile.
He is described as being quiet and thorough, and everything he says is thought-provoking or contains a deeper significance. Although none of Zelkov’s interests appear to be particularly “deep,” they do appear to be for his satisfaction in the support chat he has with Alear.
Zelkov is a Thief by default, which entails being swift, using daggers, and having the ability to pick locks to enter doors or boxes without a key. The second character, Merrin, is a royal soldier from the Solm kingdom who is said to as an exquisite and fashionable knight.
This is obvious from her fur coat and stylish attire, which almost makes her resemble Dimitri from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Her beginning class is the Wolf Knight, a brand-new class that was added to Fire Emblem. She rides a wolf into battle, is skilled with a dagger, and has excellent mobility.

In her initial chat with her liege, Timerra, Merrin mentions that she left her town to train as a knight and met Timerra, who was also riding a wolf. This dialogue provides some background information about Merrin. These bios also include a list of the Japanese voice performers, Yu Taniguchi for Zelkov and Nanako Mori for Merrin.
Fans are receiving lots of information from the Japanese side to build anticipation for the game, including a nine-minute overview trailer for Engage.
Although Fire Emblem Engage is one of Nintendo’s biggest releases to begin the year, the Western fandom hasn’t been as fortunate and has received less marketing for the game, which confuses many fans.
