Bandai Namco has confirmed the existence of a Tekken 8 trial, which will allow gamers to explore some of the single-player content seen in our Tekken 8 preview ahead of launch. The first chapter of Tekken 8’s story mode, ‘The Dark Awakens,’ as well as the brand new Arcade Quest mode, which houses the series’ trademark ghost battles inside a fun little story about playing Tekken 8 with your virtual pals, will be available to players.
You will also be able to participate in select local vs matchups. However, the full Tekken 8 roster will not be available; instead, the Tekken 8 Demo will feature Jin, Kazuya, Nina, and Paul.
Players on the PS5 will be able to download the demo a week before everyone else, with PC and Xbox Series X|S receiving it a week later. In any case, you’ll be able to play some Tekken 8 before Christmas, which should keep you entertained until the official Tekken 8 release date of January 26, 2024.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to play this trial online, however, there is always the possibility of another Tekken 8 Beta before the game’s release.
Tekken 8 Demo Release Time
The Tekken 8 demo release date varies based on the platform you wish to play the game on. The PlayStation will get a week of exclusive access to the demo, followed by PC and Xbox users a week later.
The Tekken 8 demo will be available for PS5 on Thursday, December 14 at 8 a.m. GMT / 3 a.m. EST / 12 a.m. PST. At this time, the demo will be available for download on the PlayStation Store.

Unlike previous Tekken 8 betas, this one isn’t timed, so you can play as much as you like before the game releases. This means that Xbox and PC users will be unable to participate until Thursday, December 21.
Tekken Project announced on Twitter that the game will be released at 5 pm JST (which is 8 am GMT / 3 am EST / 12 pm PST) regardless of which version you intend to play. Tekken 8 will not be released on last-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so if you were hoping to play the demo on those devices, you’re out of luck.

Bandai Namco has already begun stress-testing the game’s servers as part of a limited beta test that will last several weeks. However, the Tekken 8 demo, despite the PS5-native Remote Play capability, does not support any type of online play.
In Versus Mode, the trial supports local multiplayer for up to two players. It also includes the normal disclaimer that the content presented in the demo is subject to change.
However, given that the game is only a few weeks away from its full-fledged global release, it’s unlikely that Bandai Namco will have the ability to make any big content revisions before its market debut.
Tekken 8 will be released on January 26 for PC and current-generation consoles. Fans who have already pre-ordered the upcoming release should limit their time spent on the demo because their progress will not be carried over to the full game.
