Rocksteady Studios, makers of the showcase’s main attraction, provided a wealth of plot information and gameplay video. The 15-minute clip showed off more of the game’s overall structure, revealing that it is an open-world action shooter that combines elements from games like Batman: Arkham Knight and Sunset Overdrive.
The city of Metropolis has been overtaken by Brainiac’s minions and possessed members of the Justice League. It’s up to you to play as one of the four members of the Suicide Squad: Deadshot, Harley Quinn, King Shark, or Captain Boomerang. In the more extended preview, the Squad faces up against a tainted version of Flash, who swiftly gains the upper hand. Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Batman are just a few Justice League members who appear in the trailer.

Each lousy guy can grapple, fly, or race across the city to meet opponents and use their unique abilities. Unlike the Batman games, gunplay is a significant feature alongside close-range strikes. The game’s heroes and villains can be armed to the teeth with a wide variety of upgradable weaponry that pay homage to various characters and concepts from the DC comics canon, such as Captain Boomerang’s speed-force gauntlet that allows him to teleport over great distances.
We also verified the RPG-like gear system and live-service features reported in prior leaks during an in-depth investigation. Furthermore, Rocksteady emphasized that an internet connection is required even while playing alone.
You can increase your villain’s strength in the game’s zones as you progress by equipping them with better weapons and armor. The devs also revealed the presence of a cosmetics-focused battle pass that would grant access to retro skins for the characters and other costumes that pay homage to other heroes.

Suicide Squad Releases May 26
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is added to Rocksteady’s “Arkhamverse,” first announced in 2020. It will pick up where Batman Arkham Knight left off and try to succeed where Marvel’s Avengers failed as a live-action superhero game.
Notably, Kill the Justice League is the last role by Batman: The Animated Series voice actor Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman through various projects in the 90s and 2000s. In 2022, at the age of 66, Conroy passed away. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available on PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 26.
