Sony Revealed PS VR2’s Broadcasting, See-through Perspective, and More: Sony has provided a first peek at the PlayStation VR2’s new user experience elements, such as the see-through view and broadcast option.
Sony said in a PlayStation Blog article that the see-through feature of the PS VR2 allows gamers to see their surroundings.
To switch between the user’s environment and the content on PS VR2, they can either use the function button on the headset or the Card in the Control Center.

Adjusting the size of the playable area with the PS VR2 Sense controllers and the built-in cameras is just one of many options available via the Card in the Control Center.
The new PS VR2 broadcast feature allows players to record gameplay footage with a PS5 HD Camera.
Sony also provided information on the hardware’s Virtual Reality and Movie modes.
Players can experience 360 degrees of virtual reality game content in VR Mode.
The resolution of the content will be 4000 by 2040 pixels (2000 by 2040 per eye), and the frame rate will be either 90 or 120 hertz (Hz).
Cinematic Mode transforms the PlayStation 5‘s interface and any media that isn’t VR-compatible into a movie theatre experience.
PS VR2's passthrough is accessible via a button on the headset, a feature missing in most headsets. Usually passthrough is only accessed in menu with controllers in hand.

Cinematic Mode content will be shown in 1920 x 1080 HDR video format at 24/60Hz and also 120Hz frame rates.
As of PS VR2’s release in October, Sony promised more than 20 games.
“Right now, there is a large amount of money being spent on collaborations with independent and other third-party developers to secure a considerable pipeline of interesting VR content at the launch of PlayStation VR2,” said SIE president Jim Ryan.
Increases in the number of PlayStation VR2 headsets in use will lead to a corresponding increase in the investment of time, resources, and capital.
Sony revealed the exact technical specifications for the PS5 VR headset and the first PS VR2 game, Horizon Call of the Mountain, developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Firesprite, during its keynote presentation at CES 2022 in January.
