We might have to wait a bit to enjoy EA’s upcoming Skate game. Thanks partly to Tony Hawk, skateboarding video games used to be one of the most popular and finest game genres available.
Some of the top video games at the time were Tony Hawk titles like Pro Skater, Underground, and several others for the PS1 and PS2, but things changed a little throughout the Xbox 360 era.
When Activision started dropping the ball on the Tony Hawk series, EA pounced with its skating property, Skate.
Although the controls were a little more complex and less arcade-like, the game still featured great humor and outrageous content, including the adored Hall of Meat mode, which required players to hurt themselves to score points purposefully.
It has been over ten years since Skate 3, and EA thought it was time to create a new one after receiving enough fan complaints. Skate is not yet slated to launch, according to a recent earnings report from EA (via ResetEra), which estimates its upcoming year of releases.

The slate featured many games, although a few noteworthy ones were absent. Skate was one of the ones that attracted attention. Skate’s delayed release until at least mid-2024, if not much later, according to the slate, which is frustrating for fans who have been waiting years for this new game.
EA has not yet commented on the release date of the upcoming Skate game. EA has done a fantastic job of keeping fans informed about Skate’s development, from letting them play early game builds to regularly releasing gameplay videos that allow them to see what innovations are being incorporated into the game.
