Silent Hill Trailer
Although there was a brief teaser trailer shown during the conference, not a lot of information has been disclosed about the next game. However, the creative director of No Code, Jon McKellan, noted that the game honors the Silent Hill brand while creating “something a little bit different” with the source material of the series.
In conjunction with the announcement of Silent Hill: Townfall, Konami released a brief gameplay clip for the next game. The clip is comprised of a number of horrific still photos and moving films that are shown on a CRTV pocket television. A guy can be heard in the background growling at the listener, demanding to know why they are there.
The listener then responds with “to be punished,” however the speaker does not seem to be completely persuaded by this response. The teaser concludes with a brief glimpse of a guy wearing spectacles, just before the title card for the game is shown.
In spite of the fact that the trailer was very difficult to understand, McKellan hinted that there may be Easter eggs buried somewhere inside the shorter movie. McKellan said the following after the teaser trailer: “it could be worth watching that trailer again and seeing what you might have missed.”
In an interesting turn of events, it would seem that Silent Hill: Townfall is simply the beginning of a significant initiative on the part of Konami to recruit other firms to work on the development of Silent Hill games.
A producer for the Silent Hill series named Motoi Okamoto claimed that the firm has future ambitions to “develop cooperation with similarly competent teams.”
During the broadcast, it was revealed that there would be a remake of Silent Hill 2, as well as Silent Hill F. This was in addition to the already announced Silent Hill: Townfall.
