In an ambitious fusion of narrative in the vein of Telltale Games, massively multiplayer Twitch Plays Pokémon interaction, and traditional Silent Hill frights, Silent Hill: Ascension will have branching storylines and player-based decisions.
Ascension is rumored to be an installment in the Silent Hill series, giving players considerable control over the plot. According to a new trailer, when Silent Hill: Ascension premieres in 2023, players and viewers can look forward to various characters and interconnected plotlines.
The project’s creators, Genvid, claim that they are unsure of how Ascension will end and that the daily decisions made by millions will determine the fate of the characters in the story.
In a press statement, Motoi Okamoto, a producer on the Silent Hill series at Konami, said,
“We are pleased to tell a new interactive story, in never-before-explored locations, alongside new characters that will be introduced to fans of the Silent Hill universe. It is you who will decide the fate of multiple main characters, which will unfold simultaneously around the globe.”
Although it sounds like Genvid and Konami intend to offer native player software to consoles, PCs, mobile devices, and TVs, Silent Hill: Ascension will broadcast on the series’ official website and various undisclosed devices.
The gaming arm of JJ Abrams’ production firm, Bad Robot Games, and Meet Your Maker creator Behaviour Interactive is collaborating with Genvid and Konami. One of the games in development for Konami’s long-dormant psychological horror series is Silent Hill: Ascension.
