Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake is set to release in a matter of weeks, but you can get a taste of it now with the “Chainsaw Demo.” The demo, set in the game’s first village, is now playable on PS5, PS 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam).
There are no time limits on the demo itself, so you may take your time with it and play as much as you like. (I could use that if I want to get away from the guy with the chainsaw.)

In the style of Capcom’s remasters of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 horror classics, Resident Evil 4 is a massive remake of 2005 original, bringing with it enhanced visuals and gameplay. To judge by the February trailer released by Capcom, the game will feature many familiar locations and characters from the original; I for one can’t wait to try out the Chainsaw Demo.
The release date for Resident Evil 4 is March 24 for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One S, and PC. A VR option for PSVR 2 and a Mercenaries challenge mode are also planned for future DLC releases. Also, a patch will be available on launch day to make the rain seem different if you didn’t like it in the game’s promotional materials.
