Development on The Sims 4 is ongoing, and a new pack centered on infants is scheduled to arrive in the game in March. Currently, in early development, the next installment of The Sims on next-gen platforms is known as Project Rene.
So yes, we haven’t seen any actual Sims from Project Rene, but during Tuesday’s Behind The Sims Summit, Electronic Arts revealed further information about the game.
The developer has stated that the whole game is still years out, with play-testers presently having access to a “small section of the experience. The upcoming Sims will focus heavily on multiplayer, in addition to the classic single-player mode that fans have come to love.

Grant Rodiek, the game director for Project Rene, stated during the broadcast, We think we can be both. Although EA demonstrated multiplayer features, these do not constitute a massively multiplayer online game (MMO).
The game’s playtesters are evaluating the build-and-buy option, which lets players design their own furniture down to the smallest detail, from the fabric used on the cushions to the species of wood used for the frame.

Rodiek outlined the group’s quest for a layout that welcomes casual visitors who might want to pitch in on the construction of a bedroom or the personalization of an art museum.
You can have that in-depth experience at home on your PC; you can play for four hours, and modify everything you can think of about a piece of furniture by entering in RGB values and altering every aspect. What you’re used to is the PC experience, its full depth, and breadth, Rodiek added.
Then, when on the run, you can pull out your phone and perhaps have a new perspective. Rodiek speculated that people might be using archetypes, pre-selecting templates,” and “things they’ve already generated” when working on projects. What this implies is that there are no longer any limitations on where you can play The Sims.

Rodiek has confirmed that users will be able to make and modify Sims while on the road, even if many details of Project Rene are still being kept under wraps. I find it quite challenging.
This is not a simple matter, but it is one that we must resolve. Though it will be a while before Project Rene is ready for prime time, what has been accomplished so far is stunning and ambitious.
