Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Deep Sleep Story
The player wakes up in a dark and eerie room, after being knocked out by Huggy Wuggy at the end of Chapter 2. The player finds a note from Poppy, the mysterious and sinister doll that is behind everything.
Poppy tells the player that they are in Playcare, the orphanage that was part of Playtime Co.’s factory. Poppy also tells the players that they have to face their worst nightmare, CatNap, the leader of the Smiling Critters, a line of plush toys that were experimented on by Playtime Co.
The player escapes the room and explores Playcare, which is filled with creepy and abandoned toys, rooms, and secrets. The player also encounters CatNap, a large and vicious cat-like creature that can run, jump, and claw.
CatNap chases the player throughout the orphanage, and tries to put them in a deep sleep, a state of eternal nightmare. The player has to use their GrabPack, a gadget that can grab and pull objects, to evade and fight CatNap, as well as to solve puzzles and find clues.
The player learns more about the history and mystery of Playtime Co., Poppy, and the Smiling Critters, through notes, tapes, and flashbacks. The player discovers that Playtime Co. was a successful and popular toy company, that was founded by a man named Henry Stilton, who also created Poppy, his masterpiece and daughter.
However, Playtime Co. also had a dark side, as it experimented on its toys, using a device called the Prototype 1006, which could transfer human souls into toys, and vice versa. The Prototype 1006 was used to create the Smiling Critters, a line of plush toys that were infused with the souls of orphans, who were kidnapped and brought to Playcare.
The Smiling Critters were meant to be loyal and obedient to Poppy, who was also a product of Prototype 1006 and had the soul of Henry’s deceased wife. However, the Smiling Critters rebelled against Poppy and caused a massive fire that destroyed the factory and killed most of the employees.
Poppy and the Smiling Critters survived, and remained in the factory, waiting for someone to play with them. The player reaches the end of Playcare and faces CatNap in a showdown. The player manages to defeat CatNap and finds a way out of the orphanage.
However, the player also finds Poppy, who reveals her true form, a twisted and monstrous doll that can control the toys and the factory. Poppy tells the player that they are her new playmate and that they will never leave her.
Poppy then activates Prototype 1006 and tries to swap souls with the player. The player has to use their GrabPack, and the help of the other Smiling Critters, who have turned against Poppy, to stop her.
The player succeeds, and escapes the factory, leaving Poppy behind. The player then wakes up in a hospital, where they are greeted by a nurse, who tells them that they have been in a coma for a long time and that they have a visitor.
The visitor is revealed to be Huggy Wuggy, who has followed the player, and who smiles and hugs them. The screen then fades to black, and the chapter ends.
