Pokémon Scarlet And Pokémon Violet For The Nintendo Switch Will Soon Inspire New Avatar Items: Trainers! New avatar items for Pokémon GO will be made available on November 18 to commemorate the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for the Nintendo Switch. From November 18, 2022, these avatar items will be accessible to all trainers.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet travel to an entirely new area of Paldea with the 9th Generation of Pokémon. Similar to Pokémon Legends Arceus, the game will include an open world, providing Pokémon trainers with a whole new experience. Numerous teasers have been released, introducing new Pokémon, regional variations, and even new evolutions for already existing Pokémon.
We’ve already met:
- Sprigatito
- Fuecoco
- Quaxley
- Ceruledge
- Armarouge
- Klawf
- Grafaiai
- Farigiraf (evolution of Girafarig)
- Wiglett (not a regional version of Diglett, but a whole new Pokémon that happens to share similarities to Diglett! Also known as a convergent species)
- Gimmighoul, who has been spotted in GO, following us in-game when we spin golden PokéStops and collect coins
- A new Paldean regional form of Wooper
- Cetitan
- Fidough
- Bellibolt
- Greavard
- Smoliv
- Lechonk
- Pawmi
- Miraidon, the legendary exclusive to Pokémon Violet
- Koraidon, the legendary exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet
Numerous additional Pokémon have been hinted at, and we also know that Violet will be the only one to have the Bagon Family and Eiscue, while Scarlet will be the only one to have the Larvitar Family and Stonjourner.
Terastalized Pokémon, a completely new idea, will also be featured in the games. Pokémon can take on any typing by terastallizing! This generation’s gimmick is the Terastal Phenomenon (similar to Dynamax of Sword and Shield or Mega Evolution of X and Y).

Pokémon that are terastallizing will alter their type to match their Tera type while also amplifying moves of the same Tera type. Terastallize is only usable once per game. Once used, it needs to be refilled using Terastal energy from a Pokémon Center or crystals.
You must engage in Tera Raid Battles to capture Pokémon with rare Tera Types. You and up to three other Trainers will fight a Terastrallized Pokémon, just like in Dynamax Raid Battles, however this time, you can attack and recover on your schedule without waiting for your partners. It will be fascinating to see if and how this might appear in Pokémon GO in the future.
