There will be some incentives for consumers in the eagerly anticipated Pokemon Home update that offers connectivity for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. According to Centro Leaks’ report earlier, Pokemon Home could soon receive an update that provides connectivity to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Centro Leaks share a tweet:
HOME update info:
– Update is ready, release very soon
– For the first time ever, you will be able to transfer Pokémon caught in Scarlet/Violet to previous generation games.
– However, the move reset will still be a thing; any Pokémon transferred to SV will get its moves reset.— Centro LEAKS (@CentroLeaks) May 9, 2023
For login into the app, after the update is launched, users will be able to receive Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, according to Centro (which likely obtained this information from a press release being translated into Spanish).
Additionally, Centro has verified that several Gen 8 Pokemon games, namely Pokemon Sword and Shield, would accept transfers of some Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokemon first caught in the Paldea area can be transferred into previous games, assuming that the Pokemon also appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield, even though players cannot transfer Pokemon that first debuted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet into Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Therefore, a Pikachu captured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could be moved into Pokemon Sword and Shield using the Pokemon Home app.
While it was long believed that Pokemon Home would enable greater cross-compatibility, it should be noted that the Pokemon Bank app, which served as the predecessor to Pokemon Home, only permitted a one-way transfer between Pokemon games of an older generation (like Pokemon X and Y) and Pokemon games of a newer generation.
