Pokémon GO Fest finale event will be planned on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Those who booked tickets for 4 or 5 can join the final event with no more charges.
Hey ! how’s it going, everyone. Welcome to another Pokemon go discussion. So there’s been a lot of chatter online regarding pokemon go festival 2022. There have been a lot of backlashes and a lot of controversies regarding this event. And, a lot of it has to do with the fact that Niantic seemingly lowered the shiny rate compared to last year. On top of that, there weren’t that many exciting spawns as well and it just seems like this was a huge step down from last year’s festival.

I’m going to be talking about all of this today, so let’s roll the intro and jump right into it.
I saw regarding this year’s pokemon go fest that a lot of players felt like they did not get their money’s worth when it comes to the pokemon go fest ticket. I mean the ticket for this year’s pokemon go fest was a lot more expensive than last year and yet it seems like there was less content and less exciting shinies and of course, the shiny rate was much lower. I’ve seen some players even say that this event felt even worse than the Johto tour event that we had at the beginning of this year and on top of that some players even felt like it.

It was just a glorified version of a December community day because many of the pokemon spawnings in the different habitats were old communities. Pokemon, which if you were to get the shiny forms of any of these pokemon it wouldn’t be as exciting because you have probably already gotten them.
Those shinies from before now for me personally, I don’t necessarily agree with that sort of sentiment the real problem that I saw was that the shiny rate was extremely low. There were a lot of new shinies and some exciting shinies within each habitat but you did not feel the impact of those exciting shinies because you were barely ever seeing any shinies to begin like.
Twith were some players who were grinding out pretty much the entirety of the first day and yet they were only able to get maybe four or five shinies even for me. I was only able to get seven Chinese in total outside of raids and I felt like that number was extremely low because of the previous go fests. I would walk out with 30 or 40 Chinese pretty easily and there was a lot of variety within those shinies. But, this year I did not see that many shinies per hour and it was disappointing it made the game feel less exciting it makes me question whether or not Niantic is even aware of it.
Why players would engage in this activity in the first place pokemon go fest pretty much is one of the best shiny hunts that the game has to offer and for Niantic to nerf the shiny raid during this particular event for whatever reason, it’s going to feel very frustrating and just be a huge disappointment for pretty much every pokemon go, player. Even though, last year’s pokemon go fest was considered a disappointment compared to pokemon go fest 2020.
Felt like I got ripped off considering that I did not get as many shinies as I typically would from a pokemon go fest. I felt like, I did not get my money’s worth from this year’s pokemon go fest ticket now. I know there are going to be some players out there that are going to defend Niantic.
And say that the Chinese are never entitled to any player but I would argue against that sentiment because this was a ticketed event it was a paid experience and players are expecting to get at least the same experience that they got last year but instead we got a much-downgraded version. Let’s not forget that this year’s pokemon go fest was a lot more expensive than last year. I didn’t even get to the second-day festivities which if you were to compare to the previous pokemon go fests you would feel just how downgraded this year’s pokemon go fest was compared to the previous years.

Especially when it comes to gameplay I think without question nothing will compare to the second day of pokemon go fest 2020 we had a major team go rocket takeover, as well as a whole bunch of shadow legendaries, make their debut. And felt like the buzz was great behind that event and even though last year’s pokemon go fest day 2 was not as good. It was still really exciting because they had just a massive amount of raids and it was all about getting a whole bunch of legendaries that were released up to that point there was something really exciting about that even though there wasn’t any new gameplay. But if you were to compare this year’s pokemon go fest day 2 compared to the previous years you would find that it was extremely lacking and it was extremely lackluster.
I mean the only real exciting thing about this year’s pokemon go fest day 2 was the introduction of the ultra beasts but it ended up being just another legendary raid boss there wasn’t any kind of new gameplay mechanic. Behind it, there wasn’t anything really special about it. How you get them it was just another raid boss and that was an extremely disappointing look ultimately.
