PlayStation VR2 Firewall Ultra
“Firewall Ultra utilizes new PlayStation VR 2 Sense Technology features like eye tracking, which enables you to intuitively swap weapons and bring up HUD indicators through cameras built into the PSVR 2 headset,” said Firewall community manager, Frank Marm.
Sony’s PlayStation VR2 is being released in early 2023, containing a full range of noticeable advancements compared to the first PSVR. As well as eye tracking, the PSVR2 has a 2000×2040 OLED display for each eye, with a refresh rate of up to 120hz and a 110-degree field of view.
That’s on top of the rather cool-looking new VR controllers that include haptic feedback. When it comes to Firewall Ultra, it appears that the developers at First Contact Entertainment have plans to take advantage of the new and improved fidelity offered by the headset.
According to Marm, “because PSVR 2 offers a significantly higher level of visual fidelity with 4K HDR, we’ve completely remade all of the character models.” New areas and textures have been added to the maps, which have also undergone a comprehensive redesign. Set 5 years after the original game, there are also a whole bunch of new locations and contractors… not to mention weapons and gear that promise a “much deeper” level of customization.
Other upgrades include new dedicated servers – long sought from the Firewall community. A best-of-three format has been added to each match, and Firewall Ultra is even going to introduce an entirely new player versus environment (PVE) experience.
According to Marm, “We have further material planned to be released after the launch, such as new contractors, maps, and weaponry.” Would you like to learn more about the Firewall?
