Palworld has had another massive increase in player count today, making it the most popular game on Steam right now. For the title, it outperforms the current number one game, Counter-Strike 2, which has 1,157,485 players as of this writing.
This also makes it one of just six Steam games to ever have more than one million players at once since records began. Furthermore, the revelation coincides with the announcement that sales had topped three million across all platforms, despite the game’s release on Xbox Game Pass.
#Palworld has sold over 3 million copies in 40 hours since release!
Thank you everyone for playing Palworld!
We are so overwhelmed but also encouraged by this incredible accomplishment!

However, this massive increase of players has resulted in even more server troubles, precisely as the developers were grappling with the strain that launch day put on their systems.
“As the number of concurrent players across all platforms exceeded 1.3 million, the Epic Online Service is currently experiencing outages due to an unusually high load worldwide,” according to a press release issued by Pocketpair. “This is causing connectivity issues with co-op and servers. “We apologize for the inconvenience and are striving to restore stable operations as soon as possible.”
Pocketpair, the developer, has frequently told fans that it is trying to resolve the server outages, but for the time being, you’re best off sticking with single-player.
However, this isn’t the only problem Pocketpair has. about the weekend, Palworld found itself in the focus of a discussion about its Pal designs, with many believing they are too similar to Pokemon.
Some speculate that Pals may have been created using an AI art generator, as Pocketpair’s prior work primarily depended on it, and the company’s CEO has been known to release AI-generated Pokemon drawings.
This is purely supposition for now, and there is no proof that it is true. Pocketpair has not commented on the argument, and considering the success of Palworld over the weekend, it may simply ignore it entirely.
Palworld is now in early access and provided the developer follows their goals, it will remain so for at least a year. It can be played on both PC and Xbox.
