NES Legend Of Zelda In Vr: A The Legend of Zelda enthusiast has discovered a way to use a Doom mod to turn the classic NES game into a VR experience. In 2021, The Legend of Zelda celebrated its 35th anniversary, but there wasn’t the same amount of celebration as when the Super Mario Bros. brand hit the same milestone.
Instead, a Nintendo Game & Watch portable gadget was presented to the series about a young man who resembles an elf and a princess who save the kingdom of Hyrule from a wicked warlord.
That didn’t stop enthusiasts from commemorating the event with an abundance of fan stories and art for The Legend of Zelda, or from remaking iconic locations in other video games like Minecraft.
Additionally, a lot of mods have been made available for the PC versions of the different games, enhancing them with features like split-screen and multiplayer support for Breath of the Wild or making everything in Ocarina of Time explosive.
The fandom’s enthusiasm for everything Zelda, even the 1986 NES original game, has only grown as the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom draws near. The entire first chapter of The Legend of Zelda has been converted into a VR game by one fan of that ground-breaking game.
The achievement was made possible via a mod that was developed for Doom initially and uses the QuestZDoom engine for the Quest VR headset. A YouTube video posted by user Sugary Noe showed the hack, suitably called “The Legend of Doom,” in action.
The results are quite good, showing no obvious alterations or conversion-related issues. The world of The Legend of Zelda appears to be larger in virtual reality, and it truly just feels like a simple perspective change. It might be worth a shot for people who don’t get queasy while playing virtual reality games.
The Legend of Zelda has probably been adapted into VR games before. Virtual reality is probably where a game goes if it has a following. Both Skyrim and Resident Evil Village could be used in virtual reality before their official releases.

Thanks to a mod, even Elden Ring may be enjoyed in virtual reality. Additionally, some businesses have approved fan-made modifications, such as when Valve approved Half-Life 2: VR back in 2017. Things could also go the other way for folks who don’t enjoy virtual reality gaming or don’t have a VR setup.
2019 saw the release of the rhythm game Beat Saber, which became an instant hit, receiving accolades from both players and critics. So it didn’t take long for a mod to be made available so that Beat Saber could be played without VR using a conventional controller.
When it was revealed that Half-Life: Alyx will be a VR-only title in 2020, it saddened many fans. Half-Life: Alyx was the first game in the franchise in almost 13 years.
