Mount and Blade Bannerlord Gameplay
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is an action role-playing game with strategic elements. As in previous games in the series, players assemble an army and complete missions on an overworld campaign map, while participating in the action on open battlefields alongside their troops. However, Bannerlord enhances several facets of the game significantly.
Siege combat in Bannerlord is meant to be more strategic than it was in Warband. Before the combat begins, the player can construct various types of siege engines and place them in optimal positions to attack specific points of the opponent’s stronghold.

The player can choose to bombard the walls on the campaign map, potentially opening up gaps that can be exploited during the actual combat. Since only merlons, gatehouses, and siege engines may be destroyed during the heat of combat, lengthy bombardments are discouraged.
Defending castles and towns are built to be unfairly advantageous to their occupants; for example, murder holes are frequently placed at strategic chokepoints so that the defenders can slay many of the assailants before they can get through the gates.
Interactions between characters have been vastly enhanced in Bannerlord. The player can use a more sophisticated dialogue system to try to convince NPCs to do what the player wants. In order to win over a character during a conversation, the player must first fill a progress meter by convincing them of their reasons.
If the character remains unmoved by the player’s charm alone, the player can try to bribe them using the game’s bartering system, which is also utilized for ordinary transactions between the player and merchants. If the player is unable to persuade the character on multiple occasions, it could damage their friendship and make a bargain difficult. Characters can also be courted and married using the persuasion mechanism.
Bannerlord expands on Warband’s marriage mechanic by letting players start a family with their chosen partner. If the player character dies, a kid can take over control of the game and inherit the player character’s warriors and fiefs.
Like Warband, Bannerlord features a robust multiplayer mode where players can do battle across different maps and in different game modes. Bannerlord’s multiplayer, like that of Warband, is limited to fights and stands apart from the campaign proper; however, the creators have stated an interest in incorporating multiplayer within the campaign proper via post-launch DLC.
Bannerlord’s class system lets players pick their own style of a soldier. There are three types of classes: infantry ranged and mounted. The good and bad within a class reflect the good and bad within the faction as a whole. Rather than spending actual currency, as they did in Warband, players now use a point system to choose their classes.
Mount and Blade Bannerlord Development
TaleWorlds Entertainment first announced and published a teaser trailer for the game in September 2012.
In comparison to Mount & Blade: Warband, the game’s visuals are vastly superior thanks to enhanced shading and model quality. Motion capture technology is used to make the animations, and facial animations have been modernized to be more accurate representations of the characters’ emotions.
About forty minutes of gameplay were demonstrated at the PC Gamer Weekender in March of 2016. TaleWorlds launched the Bannerlord Steam page in October of that year.
