It’s been over a month since Mortal Kombat 1 was released, and if you’re anything like us, you’ve been perfecting the moves and fatalities, as well as collecting the trophies. It’s been a bloody and addictive adventure.
With the announcement of a new patch, you may be wondering what’s new in Earthrealm. Will we have to relearn all of our moves if the gameplay changes? Is this a case of new characters and settings?
Before we get too excited, let’s take a closer look at the latest Mortal Kombat 1 patch and see what’s changed.
Mortal Kombat Patch Notes
While the complete patch notes for NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1 have yet to be posted, players have discovered that the update contains significant changes to the gameplay.
Cyrax’s controversial Horizontal Kopter Chopper Kameo assist, which has come to dominate the game, has been nerfed. This maneuver now costs a full bar, limiting how frequently it can be used.

Tagging movements is another improvement that should make training, or lobbying as the fighting game community refers to it, more accessible. In other news, Baraka’s damage has been significantly reduced, and a Halloween theme has been introduced to Johnny Cage’s home level.
