When Mortal Kombat 1 is finally released, we can’t wait to play the most recent installment in the franchise. Mortal Kombat 1 will undoubtedly make our list of the top fighting games. But which boxers will be instrumental in propelling the title to the top of our list?
Mortal Kombat 1 Characters
The characters from Mortal Kombat 1 that have been revealed so far are listed below:
- Scorpion
- Sub-Zero
- Liu Kang
- Raiden
- Kung Lao
- Kitana
- Mileena
- Shang Tsung
- Johnny Cage
The game’s official announcement video makes us familiar with these characters. However, NetherRealm plans to add more characters to the program in the future, including some reimagined fan favorites.
Scorpion
Scorpion, the most recognizable character in the Mortal Kombat series, is a resurrected ninja who is powerful, quick, and capable of astonishing feats while employing Hellfire, an element abundant in the Netherrealm.
His human name Hanzo Hasashi, also known as Scorpion. Even though he has been in every Mortal Kombat game since the series’ inception, we are glad to see him back.
Sub-Zero
Kuai Liang, best known by his fighting name Sub-Zero, is one of the most recognizable figures in the Mortal Kombat series. He is a lethal cryomancer who is as quick as he is deadly.
He can forge numerous ice-based weapons that he may use to deal deadly strikes to opponents. By collaborating with his longtime foe Scorpion, Sub-Zero also stops the conflict between Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu.
Liu Kang
For those unaware, Liu Kang has often been seen as the series’ protagonist, typically perceived as a danger by Shang Tsung and his master, Shao Khan. He is among the few characters to feature in every Mortal Kombat game.
After the Mortal Kombat 11 expansion, Aftermath rebooted the universe, and Fire God Liu Kang became the main character in this reality.
Raiden
Anyone who has played Mortal Kombat previously should be acquainted with Raiden, the everlasting God of Thunder and defender of Earthrealm since he is one of the characters included in each title in the series.
Liu Kang and Kung Lao see him as a father figure. However, in Mortal Kombat 11, he has been corrupted. After Kronika erased the previous Raiden from the original timeline, this version of Raiden seems to be trying to learn from the faults of his future self. Although perplexing, we expect to see the old Raiden again.
Kung Lao
Kung Lao, one of Earthrealm’s champions and easily identifiable by his razor-sharp headgear, is similar to Liu Kang in that he prefers to live a peaceful existence. He always strives to demonstrate that he is just as powerful as his pal Liu Kang since things aren’t accessible in the Mortal Kombat world.
Kitana
Princess Kitana is alive again after being killed for betraying Shao Khan and collaborating with the Earthrealmers. She was, however, brought back in Mortal Kombat 11 courtesy of some time-jumping antics, and she assisted Raiden and his companions in taking down Kronika.
Eventually, she collaborated with Liu Kang to create a new future, but the Aftermath expansion shattered their ambitions.
Mileena
Mileena was a genetic experiment developed by Shang Tsung that Shao Khan adopted and raised to become a ruthless killer. She has been a villain for the whole series since she is continuously envious of her “sister,” Kitana, and often reveals a cruel side to herself.
Even though she was only available as a DLC character after the launch of Mortal Kombat 11, she seems to be returning in Mortal Kombat 1’s narrative.
Here you can check some exciting news about your favorite games:
Shang Tsung
Shang Tsung, an Earthrealm soul-stealing sorcerer and a prominent enemy for the series, with virtually unrivaled skills. He can travel between the worlds undetected by the Elder Gods because of his loyalty to Shao Khan.
Shang Tsung attempted to defeat Liu Kang to establish his timeline in Mortal Kombat 11’s Aftermath expansion, but he was unsuccessful. His version of events would have been far more catastrophic than the one in the Mortal Kombat 1 teaser. However, he seems to be back and has a new strategy.
Johnny Cage
Johnny Cage is confirmed to be in the game’s cast, even if he isn’t in the trailer. Although it’s unclear how the action movie star will be reinvented, if you purchase the game’s Premium Edition, you can dress him up as renowned actor Jean-Claude Van Damme and compete against him in a Bloodsport Kumite.
