Mario Party 3, a fan-favorite Nintendo 64 multiplayer game, is finally finding its way to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service. Nintendo stated that Mario Party 3 would be available on the Switch Online service. Now, it appears that the third installment in the party game series has an official release date.
Nintendo Switch Online is an annual membership service that allows players to access online multiplayer and a library of titles from old Nintendo platforms, among other things. Hundreds of games from outlets such as the NES, SNES, and original Game Boy are included in the basic subscription tier.
The Expansion Pack includes all of the previously stated consoles as well as the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis for a fee. Nintendo includes a handpicked library of games with each of their consoles, and more are added each month. This week, the service finally makes a traditional party game available to users.
On October 27, the Nintendo 64 game Mario Party 3 will be released as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. After a Friday update, the game will be available via the Nintendo 64 app.

The third and final installment of the Nintendo 64 trilogy will join the first two titles already available on the service. Mario Party 3 is the first Nintendo 64 game added to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack since Excitebike 64 in August.
While not as well-received as the previous two installments in the series, many regard Mario Party 3 as a worthwhile addition to the service, thanks to several addictively enjoyable mini-games and unique boards. 1080 Snowboarding is another confirmed game that fans are hoping Nintendo would add to Switch Online, but its release date is still unknown.

Although the service is fast filling in some of the most iconic retro titles, Nintendo has yet to commit to adding GameCube games to Switch Online. With games like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door being rebuilt for the platform and Metroid Prime being updated, people are concerned that Nintendo will cease with the Nintendo 64.
However, the service could move in various directions. There are hundreds more fantastic DS Games waiting to be added to the Nintendo Switch Online catalog.
Not to mention that the existing consoles’ apps still have flaws. Core Pokemon RPGs, for example, would be welcome on both the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance apps. Nonetheless, with so many vintage titles in Nintendo’s archive, it will be interesting to see what comes to the service next.
