If you wish to play Battlefield 2042 with friends on other platforms, you must first determine whether the game is cross-platform.
Battlefield 2042 will be available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on November 19, 2021. Owners of the Ultimate or Gold versions gain early access to the game. Is Battlefield 2042 available on several platforms? Many players have this question. If you are one of them, please read this post right away!
Is Battlefield 2042 Cross Platform?
Crossplay is broken into two categories since only PC and current-gen consoles support 128-player games. The first category includes PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Gamers from the four systems can interact with one another. The second category consists of Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which can only accommodate 64 players at once. It should be noted that the two groups cannot play together.
What Plans Does Ea Have for Battlefield 2042 Cross-generation Upgrades?
EA has declared that ‘Dual Entitlement,’ as it’s known, now applies to the ‘cross-gen package’ editions of Battlefield 2042 for those wondering if EA is enabling free upgrades from last-gen consoles to next-gen.
Previously, this only pertained to the expensive Ultimate and Gold editions of the game. Still, the developers stated in an EA blog post that cross-gen digital copies will acquire the functionality.
If you pre-ordered the regular last-gen edition of Battlefield 2042, you are not eligible for a free upgrade to the next-gen version; you must purchase the next-gen version separately. The next-gen (and cross-gen bundle) editions of Battlefield 2042 will cost £70, up from £60 for the last-gen (and non-cross-gen bundle) versions.

How Does Battlefield 2042’s Crossplay Work?
There will be two pools of players for crossplay. Gamers on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will be able to play with each other, while gamers on the PS4 and Xbox One will only be able to play with each other.
This is partly due to the constraints of Battlefield 2042’s last-gen variants. In comparison to the higher 128-player count on next-generation 2042 consoles, last-generation consoles will still be restricted to 64 players.
Furthermore, crossplay parties are disabled in the current open beta, so players will have to wait until launch to team up with pals across platforms.
Cross-progression is supported in Battlefield 2042. Don’t worry: your progress, unlocks, and purchases will be carried over if you decide to play Battlefield 2042 on another platform.
