Based on historical events, this first-person shooter was launched in 2016 as the tenth chapter in the Battlefield franchise. Because of the number one in the title, many people believe that this is the first game in the franchise, although this is not the case.
The game’s story takes place during World War I, and the gameplay is also inspired by real events. Battlefield 1 received positive feedback and was a commercial success upon its initial release.
This game has a single-player option as well as a multiplayer mode, which is a fan favorite and a mainstay of battlefield games. This game was released at the moment for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This game does not have a mobile version.
This game lets users compete against one another by capturing flags, destroying opposing vehicles, or simply grabbing a weapon and riding on a camel’s back while gunning down noobs.
This sounds like a lot of fun, and you’ll have a great time with your pals. But the question is, is there any cross-platform support that allows you to play with your pals on different systems or with other players in general? Is there a cross-platform mode for all game types in Battlefield 1?
Is Battlefield 1 Cross Platform?
Unfortunately, none of the platforms on which this game is available have cross-platform support. If players want to play together, they must buy the game on the same platform.
This is not surprising; currently, many games forego cross-platform support due to the technical complexity of building cross-platform servers.
Battlefield 1 is a fantastic game that merits a crossplay feature, but from the developer’s perspective, this is not as simple as it appears. First and foremost, they must evaluate the limitations of each platform’s games.
This brings up the problem of compatibility, which is one of the most essential parts of crossplay. Introducing crossplay requires developers to focus their efforts and spend the majority of their time creating separate servers that will allow players from all platforms to interact with one another.
Not to mention that the PC and console worlds are worlds apart, and the way a game might play out differs on both platforms.
PC users use a mouse and keyboard, whereas console gamers use controllers. There are no special rules, however, PC players can also have fun with a controller on a PC.
However, when developers make a gameplay tweak or update, they must consider both viewpoints. Controls and adjustments should be compatible with each platform, mainly because PC gamers have the largest edge in PVP competition.
Furthermore, there are legal difficulties that must be addressed. Each console developer regards the version of their game as their own, and they can offer some exclusive things that only a user who owns the game on that platform can purchase.
Battlefield 1 has no cross-platform support. Developers never showed any effort or desire to create a cross-platform mode that could fit all platform players in one spot.
If you want to play with your pals on another platform, you may have to change your entire setup, which is inconvenient and unwelcome.
Most people would rather stay on a console than buy this game on a PC and start learning new controls, which makes sense.
There is technically a form of crossplay available, but I prefer not to call it that. You can play the game with your pals if they own the same platform series.
For example, if you are playing on Xbox One, you are permitted to play with someone on Xbox Series X. The same is true for PS5 and PS4. Steam and Origin players on PC can match and queue up against each other.

Conclusion
We have reached the end of this post, and if I had to summarize it in one word, it would be NO, despite being one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time.
Every day, millions of people play this game and swear by it. It’s encouraging to see that, even after all these years, there is still a dedicated fanbase playing earlier battlefield versions on a daily basis.
Some of them even built community servers to keep the game alive after the developers had moved on to the next installment’s production.
However, I believe that fans like them are hidden gems that deserve better. Even in 2023, the battlefield buzz is great, and no progress on crossplay/cross-progression has been made.
Especially with a series as large as Call of Duty, which, by the way, offers cross-platform play in all game modes, including the battle royale spin-off.
Hopefully, once developers have enough resources and technological means to make this dream a reality, we will see some cross-platform in older games. We can only hope for the best until then.
