Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay: Horizon Forbidden West was created by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2022 as an action role-playing game. It is the sequel to 2017’s Horizon: Zero Dawn, and it is set in the future Western United States where an extinction event caused by a rogue robot swarm has left the region in ruins.
The player is free to roam the planet and perform tasks while taking on hostile machine creatures with either ranged or melee weaponry. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 version of Horizon: Forbidden West was published on February 18, 2022, to generally positive reviews.
#Blocktober honestly was one of the big reasons I created a Twitter account. Happy I can finally show Horizon stuff!
The Community Team at @Guerrilla made three fantastic transition for Cauldron MU and IOTA.

Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay
Gameplay Horizon: Forbidden West is a third-person action role-playing game. Aloy, the hunter, is under the player’s control as they traverse a world full of frightening, animalistic machines. In a free environment, she travels across the post-apocalyptic version of the Western United States, notably the states of California, Nevada, and Utah, to investigate the enigmatic frontier known as the Forbidden West.
The game’s map is far bigger than its predecessor’s. The Valor Surge system, freeform climbing, and equipment like the Shieldwing, Focus Scanner, Diving Mask, and Pullcaster have all contributed to enhanced exploration and battle. Better objective diversity and attractive reward systems are supported by the quest mission structure.
Horizon Forbidden West Development
Horizon Forbidden West was started in 2018 by Guerrilla Games, a year after the release of its prequel, Horizon Zero Dawn. Sony Computer Entertainment published it for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Mathijs de Jonge is in charge of the visuals, and Benjamin McCaw is in charge of the story.
It features new music composed by Oleksa Lozowchuk and the return of Joris de Man, The Flight (Joe Henson and Alexis Smith), and Niels van de Leest. Aloy (Ashly Burch), Sylens (Lance Reddick), and Erend (John Hopkins) all return. An original character named Regalla is played by Angela Bassett, while Carrie-Anne Moss is Tilda. Aloy’s actions were played out by Peggy Vrijens and captured using motion capture technology.
Advanced haptic feedback, 3D spatial audio, enhanced lighting, special water rendering, greater visual effects, and shorter loading times are all made possible by the PlayStation 5’s higher processing power, proprietary solid-state drive storage, Tempest Engine, and DualSense controller.
A newer Decima engine that can handle high dynamic range has been added, and the “performance mode” can now run at 60 frames per second with a reduced base resolution if desired.
At the PlayStation 5 announcement event in June 2020, Sony announced the release of Horizon: Forbidden West for a 2021 release. Sony’s State of Play event on May 27, 2021, featured a 14-minute gameplay demo for the game, developed by Guerrilla Games and played on a PlayStation 5.
Despite being on pace for a late 2021 release, work was being affected in part by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst in June 2021. Its original release date of August 25, 2021, was pushed back to February 18, 2022. According to Guerrilla Games, the game “went gold” on January 27, 2022, meaning that physical copies were ready to be created, and all future development would be given via online software upgrades.
Free upgrades from the PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 versions are available. The 97GB required by the PS4 edition is spread across two Blu-ray discs, whereas the 98GB required by the PS5 version is contained on a single Ultra HD Blu-ray.
Titan Comics released a comic book series on August 5, 2020, that takes place after the events of the first game. The Isle of Spires, a four-song EP by Guerilla, was released on June 3, 2021. Nathy Peluso, an Argentine singer, released an electronic track called “Emergencia” on February 16, 2022. The song was clearly influenced by the video game Resident Evil. This music video features Peluso as Aloy.
